The morning unfurled in soft gold as Ayumi stepped out from her residence boat with a stretch, the Upcity shoreline still wrapped in that delicate hush that lived between night and the first stirrings of day. The artificial beaches shimmered under the rising sun, their pale sands catching the light like powdered glass. A breeze rolled in from the water, cool and salted, brushing through her dark‑honey hair until the golden strands glowed like threads of dawn. She set off at an easy pace, her feet whispering over the immaculate promenade, the solar‑glass tiles beneath her reflecting faint halos of amber as she passed. Her morning workout gear a sleek, high-performance black sports bra with a deep halter-style neckline that plunges into a flattering V-shape at the front, secured by wide, supportive straps that cross subtly at the back for added stability without restricting movement.
The fabric was a premium, materia compression blend smooth, sweat-wicking, and slightly compressive hugging her toned torso and accentuating the definition of her shoulders, collarbones, and midriff while providing full coverage and bounce control during her stride. Paired with it are high-waisted black athletic shorts that sit comfortably at her natural waist, the wide, contoured waistband offering gentle support and staying firmly in place no matter how fast she runs. The shorts feature a modest inseam, ending mid-thigh with clean, raw-edge hems that prevent riding up; the material mirrors the buttery-soft, four-way stretch composition, allowing unrestricted leg drive while maintaining a polished, second-skin silhouette. Subtle seam placement along the sides and a darted gusset ensure both comfort and a streamlined look from every angle.
Her footwear consists of lightweight black running shoes with a streamlined profile low-to-the-ground cushioning, breathable mesh uppers in matte black, and bold white accents on the midsole and laces for a sharp contrast. A few early risers recognized her a nod from a vendor prepping fish for the morning, as Ayumi's steady jog carries her past the bustling waterfront market, the salty tang of fresh sea air mingles with the first sizzle of charcoal and the clean metallic scent of gutted fish. Ayumi looked at many of the changes they had developed here that were spreading across Denon.
Her attention went to more and she knew Zahira was around... somewhere hidden watching... she wasn't one to reveal herself or let Ayumi out of her sight even on a safer route since they had been doing a lot more improvement. SHe was looking at many of the vendors as one was cracking a sophis fruit, the pungent scent of it was there but it wasn't horrible. It was alluring as the thick, spiky shell was cracked open. The spines along the fruits skin would have to be milked of the venom that was there but it could be repurposed for several things. It being as strong as phrik and beskar against blaster and lightsabers. SHe looked at it as the inner fruit was more in sacs one could hold and eat like an apple. Getting one offered to her as the rollouts of Denon produced food products were here. The fish alone in the fisheries was beautiful.
SHe continued and had invited Melanie to join her in a morning run and tour. Upcity in district 19 was still the bigger entertainment district but now you could see across the way the other districts being rebuild and peer down into the gaps where the lower levels were getting just as much with the white and gold being used to track conversion progression. The gap and structural support layers built much stronger and more spaced to properly balance the weights being exerted. THey were engineering something a lot more with the smart water as well as she could see the large scale vertical farms that were being used and implemented. Upcities own zoo had been a main attraction as they had brought porgs and ropos into the hardlight enclosure so the kids could come and see them. Ayumi went back to her morning job as she moved waving and greeting the people.
