DESCRIPTION

The Vyrhawk-type Fighter-Bomber is a modernized Mandalorian redesign of the classic New Republic-era strike craft, rebuilt to embody speed, aggression, and overwhelming offensive output over survivability. Produced by Aether Systems for exclusive service within the Mandalorian Empire, the Vyrhawk abandons traditional distinctions between interceptor and bomber. Instead, it combines both roles into a single platform capable of rapid interception, escort duty, precision anti-ship strikes, and planetary attack operations. Its compact six-meter hull houses a dense weapons package normally reserved for much larger craft, including heavy laser cannons, ion weaponry, and a versatile missile and torpedo arsenal capable of disabling capital ships or annihilating hardened surface targets. This firepower is delivered at extreme velocity, allowing Vyrhawk squadrons to strike deep into hostile formations before defenders can properly react. To enable carrier and atmospheric operations, the fighter incorporates a specialized S-foil actuator system within its lower wing. When landing, the wing rotates upward like the historic V-19 Torrent, reducing landing footprint and improving stability during vertical approach and hangar recovery. In combat configuration, the wing locks into its extended attack position, maximizing weapon convergence and flight control authority. The design of the Vyrhawk followed a simple philosophy - kill the target before it can retaliate. This design choice leaves little room for defensive systems. Armor is thin, shielding is limited, and the craft relies almost entirely on speed, maneuverability, electronic countermeasures, and squadron coordination to survive. As a result, the fighter is deployed in dense sixteen-ship formations, favoring synchronized missile strikes, ion suppression waves, and rapid disengagement over prolonged dogfights. In Mandalorian service, the Vyrhawk has earned the nickname "Sky Reaver" - a starfighter that appears without warning, delivers catastrophic damage in moments, and vanishes just as quickly, leaving wreckage and fire in its wake.
