Description:
Alric Kuhn has never truly held any allegiance, though he is most famed for his tenure as head of Titan Industries Alric has shown an immense propensity for playing both sides. This is evidenced by his formed company Astraeus Industrial.

With this kept in mind, and the rise of the Galactic Alliance, Alric Kuhn was contacted by Grand Marshal Omai Rhen to create something to aid the New Jedi Order in their fight against the Sith.

Knowing full well the roll of a force user in battle, and knowing full well that in general the Jedi were more apt to be considered vanguard soldiers, Alric designed an armor that was perfectly suited for those Jedi that were first in battle and thus took the hardest hit. What came about was the Vanir Technologies Jedi Vanguard Armor.

This piece of armor is the mashing of several Vanir Technologies creations, coming together as the sum of a whole with a little extra.

The armor at its base layer is a single body suit. This body suit is filled with Vanir Technologies Kinetic Impact Gel, taking the place of what would normally be an underlying Armorweave or Asheran Armorweave bodysuit. The bodysuit itself is incredibly impact resistant, capable of taking a huge amount of kinetic force before being rendered useless after significant amounts of damage is applied to a single spot. The gel only being capable of being struck once before being 'cracked'.

Above this initial layer comes a second 'skin'. This second layer of armoring is the Vanir Technologies Shark Skin. This synthetic material was designed by Vanir Technologies to be placed over initial bodysuits, created as a backup against Energy weapons, lightsabers, slicing weapons, and most Yuuzhan Vong Weapons. Like the VT-KIG the Shark Skin is designed to intake an initial maximum force before being rendered useless due to kinetic force applied on the scales that will eventually break them.

The last layer of the armor is a series of Dallorian Alloy plates. These plates are relatively thin and serve as little more than added protection against small arms blaster fire, though are mostly easily destroyed or rendered inert.

Vanir Technologies Jedi Vanguard armor is perhaps one of the strongest and well crafted armor in the galaxy. It is capable of blocking lightsabers, swords, bullets, blasters, most forms of damage in fact. However, the armor itself is not meant for sustained combat. The armor is very much designed for its combatant to get in and get out quickly, it will not last for very long in intense fighting and combat. The armor is designed to stand up to initial brunt force, whatever that brunt force might be, instead of rendering the wearer into a tank.

This was a conscious decision made by Alric, knowing that most Jedi are used as the initial hammer in fighting, rather than the sustained combat force that most soldiers are.

The armor also comes equipped with a VT-Grav Glove. Though this may seem like an odd addition into a suit of armor primarily used by force users, there is a very good reason. The primary enemy of the New Jedi Order is the One Sith, known users of Yuuzhan Vong technology and Soldiers. The VT-Grav Glove will allow those wearing the VT-JGA to effectively use “the force” on those dead in the force. Of course this still settles with the old drawbacks of the VT-Grav Glove itself, that it only being able to lift towards the relative strength of the user and the gloves own power supply. Giving them an element of surprise in combat.

Strengths & Weaknesses:
Shark Skin - The Shark skin is amazingly resistant to blaster fire, lightsabers, most bladed weapons, and even Yuuzhan Vong Biotechnology. After initial severe damage however the Shark Skin can be rendered useless due to the scales of the armor failing.
KIG - Kinetic Impact gel is capable of taking tremendous amounts of blunt force trauma, absorbing it and saving the wearer from broken bones, bruises, and internal bleeding. KIG is only good for one hit, and the relative strength of the hit decides how much of the KIG is rendered useless.
VT Grav Glove - The VT-Grav Glove uses a series of repulsors to simulate the effects of the force in regards to push and pull of objects and people. The glove itself is only capable of the users relative strength and can also only be powered up for three to five seconds depending on weight.
Armor Over all - The Jedi Vanguard Armor is overall a perfect upfront battle armor, it is capable of taking tremendous amounts of damage. However, the Armor is not meant for sustained fighting, and prolonged combat will lead to failure.

Weight: 4.7kg
I'd need this bumped up to 7kg+

Reason -

a special type of armor weave that's like microscopic shark scales, a grav glove that weight is 1.7kg so that make the armor like 3kg without those, and a gel in big enough quantity can be a little heavy. All of the layers add up weight.

Quality: 8

Also could you bump this down one.

Reason -

The armor as said can't hold a long duration of combat meaning/presuming that it won't survive a big encounter that would take time making the armor useless after a short time.

I changed the weight to 7.2kg

However i do not think changing the quality makes sense. The armor itself is all around designed to take full force and extreme damage. The quality in the sub should designate what it can take at its best. You dont sub an armor with a rating showing what it will take once its broken.

[member="Alric Kuhn"] there are many armors with the same type of resistance as this that are at a six but with a bit less protection.

If you look at beskar it's 10 because it's strength to withstand alot of damage and is durable. Thats even without the use of shields to protect the user. Also some of the times it doesn't come out at a 10 e.g. click here

Beskar has zero kinetic resistance which is its fatal flaw as stated in canon and on many subs on the board. If you get hit hard in the chest wearing beskar, that energy will transfer to your body and likely bruise or break bones. That, as well as the density of the metal itself is why some subs with Beskar are not Quality 8+.

However, comparing one armor to another is rather unproductive, especially when said armors are composed of entirely different materials.

This armor is designed to be heavily protective to all forms of damage. The KIG protects against extremely powerful kinetic strikes, the Shark Skin protects well against energy and lightsaber attacks, it is also made up of Aserhan Armorweave which stands at Quality 8 on its own. Add on top of that the Dallorian plates and summed together it deserves an armor quality rating of 8 if not better. I placed the rating there because when people quickly glance at a sub that's what they look at, the impression should be that this is an armor that like other 8+ armors can take a very heavy beating(initially, of course). That's the point.

Okay if talked this over with the another fj and 8 should be fine. But I am going to have to ask you to list all the strengths and weaknesses of this item and those of the glove, shark skin and gel. Once that's done I'll read through it once more as a last check and then your good to go.

It is literally all already listed in the sub, the strengths and weaknesses of each separate item as well as the strength of the armor as a whole. One just has to read the description.

I have outlined the strengths and weaknesses in the description. However I urge people to read the full thing.

May I ask Why?

They're already highlighted very clearly within the sub itself, listing them out would be aesthetically displeasing as well as redundant.

[member="Alric Kuhn"] because a list makes it's more easy for someone else to not only see all of the submissions strengths more clearly, but also it's weaknesses. So with them in a collected list it's less likely someone will skim over it and miss it in the description prior to it's use, or someone as an opponent of the user wearing it. So I'll ask again could you please list the strengths and weaknesses.
