SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Bolt Caster Tech- The Dire Wolf uses a 30 cm long rod which is fired via magnetic propulsion and energized by a polarizing field as it is sent towards the target. This combination firing mode allows it a large deal of penetration to pierce straight through a vehicle’s vital systems.
  • Faraday Caged- Given the electrical components of the Dire Wolf, every weapon is produced with an internal faraday cage to prevent frying from EMP grenades which would otherwise render the weapon useless on the battlefield.
  • Frag Shot- A secondary ammo type, the frag shot forgoes the extra penetration given by the polarizing fields in favor of an explosive end which after penetration of a target, explodes like a shrapnel grenade. This shot is best used against infantry hiding in a building or within a light vehicle. A shatter shot will only deploy upon penetrating a surface of sufficient resistance and emerging on the other side.
  • Rail Mounts: Attached to the upper assembly and below the barrel, the mounts are generally used for a scope and accompanying laser.
  • 7 Round Magazine
STRENGTHS
  • Powerful- The Dire Wolf AMR is capable of stopping most any ground vehicle within a single magazine and can even light fighters and transports in a single hit. Infantry are usually reduced to charred limbs.
  • Long Range- With a modular scope, the Dire Wolf can have an effective range of up to 500 meters.
  • No Collateral Damage- Unless you count the explosion of the enemy vehicle, there is far less damage potential to friendly troops and none of that pesky back blast that comes from the average rocket launcher.
  • Semi-Auto- Multiple tanks on the horizon? Take them down as fast as you can get a good shot. No reloading after every shot as one would do a rocket launcher.
  • EMP Proof- Due to the VSF’s common usage of EMP’s, this weapon includes an internal faraday cage to prevent loss of functionality.
  • Frag Shot- As mentioned earlier, the Frag shot is effective against infantry under cover or in light vehicles
WEAKNESSES
  • Weighty Ammo- Rather than having a lightweight energy pack, the Dire wolf uses 30 cm. Rods which are energized upon being fired. This leads to a much heavier weight and less ammo capacity
  • Pick Your Targets- With the low ammo capacity and slow fire rate compared to most rifles, it is not suggested to use this rifle on normal infantry.
  • Kicks Like a Mule- It’s a big gun. Don’t expect to be rapid firing it with any degree of accuracy.
  • Not a Rocket- While it is meant to take down armored targets, the Dire Wolf lacks the explosive boom of its more conventional counterparts.
  • Keep it Low- While technically capable of knocking fighters out of the air, it has neither a tracking feature, nor a great deal of maneuverability. Thus, it is suggested that this weapon be reserved for ground targets.
  • The Frag Shot loses much of the weapon’s penetration power and thus is ineffective against heavily armored targets or reinforced barricades.
DESCRIPTION

Developed by VSF to provide a weapon against large heavy targets, the Dire Wolf AMR packs a punch with each shot in its 7-round magazine. Designed to punch through heavy armor and leaving smoking holes in engine blocks, cockpits, and ammo caches, this weapon is not one that any vehicle operator would want pointed in their general direction. When armor is scarce on the battlefield, gunners may also carry with them magazines of the Dire Wolf Frag Shot. These rounds aren’t capable of penetrating most heavy armor, but with their reinforced tip, they are meant to punch through the average wall before detonating with all the lethality of a small fragmentation grenade. Heavy and boasting some of the largest ammunition offered by the VSF the Dire Wolf is not a weapon for the weak and feeble. While certainly less bulky than a rocket launcher, this weapon is a beast to carry.
