Description
With Reclaimer and Spaarti setting foot on Yuuzhan'Tar's most crime ridden cities black market this opened up a lot of opportunities for the two companies. Access to Yuuzhan Vong technology and weaponry in small doses. And with that came the weapons from the depressing little planet, one being the Voxyn Sniper Rifle. This menace to society now becoming available to the galactic market is truly something unique and deadly.
How it's made. The Voxyn rifle is a living weapon, like all Yuuzhan Vong technology it breathes and is organic. But how it actually propels the round and works is quite disguising but effective. Where the magazine well of a gun is traditionally placed this is the mouth of the weapon. The user feeds the mouth it's ammunition and it travels into a holding area that doubles as the rifles stomach and intestines. Now to keep the ammunition from being digested by the rifle there is an area on the front of the rifle that appears to be a seashell. If the user is not feeding the rifle and using it to kill then the user pulls on that seashell. This causes the rifle to push the ammunition through it's intestines using a very large amount of natural gas and pressure. This makes the ammo move through the rifle quickly and towards it's um well area where it expels waste, which is also the barrel of the rifle. With all the pressure of gases still mounted in the beasts gut the rounds are ready to fire. The user manipulates the trigger that opens the rifles exit area... The pressure built up by the rifle propels the ammo forward giving it more range. Then the next round slides up to the exit area and the process starts again once enough natural gas is collected. Firing this weapon though gives a very foul oder.
Power. Packing the basic punch of the individual rounds the weapon is a standard sniper. It can not be manipulated or senses through the force unless the user specializes in the certain force ability that allows one to sense Vong. But that doesn't mean that if you are using this weapon the person targeted can't not sense danger. They can not trace or track the round through the force but this is not a green light to say they can't sense an attack. Each individual bug has it's weaknesses and strengths some unable to pierce armor others meant to. (Differ to links above) but rounds can pass through telekinetic force barriers and can not be swayed by force pushes, pulls, etc etc, giving the rifle an edge on traditional blaster and slug throwers.
Weaknesses. It's a living weapon, it has a life span. Sadly a very short life span due to all the damage caused by it's firing method. Most rifles are lucky to live up to 2 years depending on frequent use. While their tough outer bone layer can protect them from falls and other damage they are not blaster or lightsaber proof. A shot with a blaster or a chop with a lightsaber will kill the rifle and it will cease to function. It's size also comes into play it's a bit unwieldy at times and is not good for moving through tight spaces. You also have to remember to feed your rifle at least twice a week. It typically eats house hold rodents and the like. And of course fire as with most Vong tech is it's bane, and will kill it as well.
Summary. A great gun for killing force users or walking through a metal detector this force dead piece of fury will perform for you as long as you feed it and treat it right. Feel free to name and love it until it's short and tragic death.
