Hmm well that would be good and come in handy, stuborn was good... most of the people she knew were stubborn so she could handle that. Being harsh well curb that maybe a little but you needed to be able to show authority and an edge in some situations to make others back down and stop things. Be the alpha of the pack in some cases when the jedi had a small grin on her face to watch her. "That will all come in handy, now tell me padawan what do you know about saber forms? Which kind would you like to learn to use."

Jairdain continued to follow the motions of her Master, but when she forgot where to move next, she stopped to watch the woman again. In one of those pauses [member="Orihime Ike"] asked her what she knew of the different forms.

"Only what you answered earlier, Orihime. Forms are all new to me."

Getting the movements again in her mind, Jairdain fell into the motions of the form with her master.

[member="Jairdain"]

Oh yes that is right she had.... Orihime was looking at her and had to find a cool way to make up for her lak of memory oversight... mistake. "Good you passed the test." She said it as straight faced as she could feeling some heat in her cheeks but staying at it while she thought about what she would be able to teach her padawan and what would be a useful skill for her. "Alright, once we get these kata's down so you can move around and be able to use the saber form with one of the disciplines." Oh yes make it all part of some grand design and test and Orihime was prepared for it.

Jairdain could tell her master was distracted by something. She also felt the embarrassment emanating from [member="Orihime Ike"] though she tried to keep it hidden. A small giggle came from the padawan in the hopes to make her master laugh.

"What is a kata?"

She rolled the word on her tongue a little, savoring the sound and the way felt rolling out of her mouth.

Ah good something to talk about. "A kata is a small series of moves that are used and practiced in a sequence the jedi are able to use. Mixed with velocities then you have two use it together increasing the speed until you are able todo it without failure." she said it with a look on her face though and laughed a little for herself with a better look on her face. She was showing it and letting the movements go to increase. "They also serve with different saber forms as a means to practice the skills that are the basis for them."

Jairdain listened to her master define what a kata was and nodded at the answer.

"So we were doing a kata already."

Once again, she fell into the motion of mirroring her master. She was moving faster and Jairdain could tell there were differences between this and the last they had been doing.

"Yes we are and for some fo the basic moves, shii-cho is about being unpredictable in many cases and letting the flow define it. Makashi is about dueling against a saber and controlling the flow. Soresu defensive in nature as you wear down the others, ateru is aggressive but less because you use emotions as others ike to do but because you move and keep striking from different angles. Djem so and shien are about defensive protection while leaving it open to counter strikes, niman is a mixture of them all with an understanding of how to use and flow between the saber forms. THough most just like to jump to using the style over understanding why it takes from each form."

"I want to know them all and decide which best suits me. If you wanted, I could show you some of what my people taught me."

Jairdain spoke as she moved, following her master. The moves were becoming more natural and less forced, but still slightly slower than those of [member="Orihime Ike"].

Orihime had a look at her while she thought about it and getting a better idea for herself now she was thinking about it with a better look. "I can do that, show me what you have learned." She said it with a smile on her face slowing down and backing away as she brought her saber in and had it at the ready for herself with a nod. "I am ready." She was standing there before that were all working over at a few of the forms. She could teach some of them but she was still learning a little bit about the skills to have them.

(OOC: I'm a poor combat writer, so just use your imagination.)

Nodding to [member="Orihime Ike"], Jairdain stepped away from her master and started into some of the familiar routines from her home. She held her saber across her body, almost horizontal, hilt to the right and the blade about chest high. She raised her arms above her head and brought the saber down diagonally and when her movement was finished, the hilt was on her lower left side and the blade going the other direction.

Following a few more moves, Jairdain finished her exercises and looked at her master.

"Is there anything like that the Jedi use?"

[member="Jairdain"]

Orihime was looking at her and watching the movements as her pupils dilated. Allowing the force to speed up her mind and make following and learning the movements that much easier. She understood how to do the movements and she could practice them so that her body would e able to move and react eventually to go with the memories of the movements themselves. "Very nice looking." She stuck around there and was allowing the force energies to guide her while she mirrored the movements gripping her saber with both hands.

"Honestly, I think saber training is wasted on me. While I certainly wasn't the worst in class, I was not the best. I mean I understand the need to know this, but it's not something I'm going to use."

Jairdain had always had a gentle soul and never hurt anything or anybody if she could avoid it.

She watched [member="Orihime Ike"] copy her own short demonstration and saw the young Jedi picked up on quicker than she had.

"You're really good."

[member="Jairdain"]

She looked at her with a nod of her head to that. There was a compliment to her skill and well Orihime could admit that she didn't want to use these skills either but they were something you should know. You don't want to have to know how to fly a ship or how to fix it at times but when the time comes you will be glad you have the skills and understanding to figure it out. While she was moving around she spoke. "Knowing something and using it can often be different things, I don't fly but I know how to do it in case of emergencies. A saber is much the same jut a tool you can have in case you need it."

"Why learn different forms though? Just to know some basic defense and offense moves should be fine. Besides, it's easier to use the Force to end a situation than a sword."

If Jairdain could see to roll her eyes, she would have at [member="Orihime Ike"]. However, she kept her own feelings to herself for once and got back into the motion of the previous kata they had been running.

"Yes, it is good to know how to do something."

Though never one to be impatient. Jairdain was starting to feel it build on her.
