  Chapter I
  VORTIGERN MIMKIN​

  
  Vortigern Mimkin was not born to rank or privilege, but to the dust and blood of the fighting pits on Nar Kreeta, deep within the fractured territories of Hutt Space. Raised among gamblers, slavers, and pit bosses, Vortigern learned early that survival favored the brutal, the quick, and the cunning.
  
  He fought first for food, then for credits, and eventually for reputation. By adolescence, he was already known as a pit survivor who preferred strategy over rage, a trait that would define his later command style. When he aged out of the arenas, Vortigern slipped naturally into smuggling.
  
  The hyperlanes became his battlefield, his ship his only loyalty. That life ended abruptly after a disastrous encounter with forces of the Dark Empire.
  
  Captured, interrogated, and nearly executed for his dumb nature, Vortigern instead chose a different path. Recognizing his semi-effective tactical instincts and familiarity with the underworld, Imperial officers offered him a chance to serve rather than die.
  
  Vortigern entered the Imperial Navy as a low-ranking auxiliary officer and rose with unusual speed mostly due to his superiors being executed by members of the Dark Side Elite rather than his actual combat experience.
  
  His background made him an effective actor, able to convince the lower rank aboard his flagship that he had some tactical knowledge rather than just being lucky.
  
  When the Dark Empire fell, he formed his own Imperial Remnant within the Five Points System under his direct command.
  
  Since the system was a rather unimportant sector of the galaxy he has not been dethroned from his position but continues to gather strength. In 902 ABY, he has joined forces with the Final Dawn in order to enrich himself through the cause of Imperialism.
