The VM-056 Sol-Culverine "Helion" is a Vandemarian-Mithraic heavy energy weapon developed by the Techwrights for installation on ground vehicles, armoured walkers and mobile weapons platforms. Drawing inspiration from Solar Ionization weapon technology, the Helion channels superheated plasma into a concentrated thermal discharge capable of punching through heavy armour, bunkers and fortified emplacements. Its oversized Superheated Plasma Cells provide the immense energy required for repeated fire, but their volatile contents demand heavily reinforced containment systems and robust cooling assemblies. A damaged cell is not merely a disabled ammunition source, it is a potential furnace erupting inside the vehicle carrying it. The Helion takes its name from the Helion, the Vandemarian conception of the sun as an eternal source of radiance and destructive fire. Mounted beneath the armoured hull of a tank or carried within the articulated weapons assembly of a walker, the weapon gives the platform a distinctive golden-white glare as it charges. When fired, the Helion releases a violent lance of incandescent plasma that strikes with the force of a miniature sun, washing armour in unbearable heat and leaving behind molten metal. It is a weapon built for the Vandemarian battlefield philosophy of bringing the forge of the heavens directly to the enemy.
