Visitors Beware (Hakan)

Morgaine rolled her eyes. "I was a foolish child. My mother was right to keep me here, for she realized well before I that this was the place where I most longed to be. The galaxy and its turmoils do not suit me. I prefer the safety and familiarity of my home." She said firmly. She saw Hakan yawn, and rose from her place on the floor. "Well, that was a nice little chat. But we must sleep. We will need an early start if we are to reach the mountains." She stretched and placed a few extra logs in the fire for the night before removing her boots and her arm covers.

Hakan didn't quite know what to say. He found it somewhat sad that she felt inclined to stay here and never explore due to mistakes being made. Home was nice and all but surely the curiosity had to be there. "I suppose there's no place like home." He spoke with an understanding tone, he supposed here was where she belonged, where she was happy. In this planet of all places. Strange.

"Yeah..." He agreed, a little worried about the four day trek they were going to be in for. "If we're going to be walking for four days I'd better catch some sleep."
He got up, removing his soaked legware, obviously unable to sleep in this. Placing it near the fire so they'd dry through the night before he got settled into the bedroll. It was a different experience for him sleeping with a crackling fire and the sounds of Dagobah's strange wildlife. He let out a long sigh as he rested his hands behind his head. Hoping to let sleep take him away.

It was nearly dawn when the crashing of underbrush awakened Morgaine. She got out of bed, throwing on her boots and arm covers. The thrashing only came from one creature that lived nearby: A Rancor. She grabbed her staff, jabbing a sleeping Hakan. "Get up, Hakan! we have a problem!"

Hakan was a very heavy sleeper, he couldn't hear any of the Rancor's destructive rampage, but he could feel the jabs and they were uncomfortable for him to groan and toss around a bit. "What?..." He spoke groggily, but he realized that with her rather insistant tone that something wasn't up, he quickly threw himself out of the bedroll, in nothing but a vest and underwear, hurriedly put on his pants and boots, force-pulling his lightsaber towards him he rushed towards the cave's entrance. "What's that?" He couldn't quite see the creature as his eyes weren't fully opened yet, he was asleep only seconds ago.

Morgaine readied her Magic. "Tis a Rancor, you fool! Get away from the entrance, lest it smell you out!" She hissed, pulling him away from the door and putting him behind her. "There is only one thing we can do. This particular Rancor is one of monstrous proportions, something of which your Lightsaber will have no effect. If you wish to escape with your life, you must stay close behind me." She glanced back at him, her voice stern. "My cloaking spell will work if we are touching, and we make NO SOUND."

He was abruptly yanked behind Morgaine, his eyes widened a bit when she said it was a Rancor, he knew of these creatures and how deadly they were, if she was native to this planet she knew how to deal with them, so it was wise that he listened to her, and he did, making sure to not make any sudden movements. He didn't know how to deal with these things so he'd just have to follow her instructions for now. "Damn."
Surprised to hear that his saber would be useless he holstered it in his belt again and followed her instructions.
And now he had to hold her, not quite knowing how to proceed he held her hand, any other way would just seem lethargic and cumbersome, he made sure to hold tight enough so there was no chance of his hand slipping away and revealing them.

Morgaine gripped his hand firmly. With one last glance behind at him and a finger over her mouth for silence, she crept to the door. The massive creature was rummaging around the right side of the hut for something. Morgaine held her staff upward. With a single pulse from her body, a small purple glow appeared at the top end of the staff and billowed outward around them like a shield. The purple glow vanished, and it appeared that they were surrounded by nothing. Cautiously, Morgaine led them outside. Her eyes stayed locked on the Rancor, who was still rummaging. A cluster of birds suddenly whirled out of the canopy to the left of them. She turned her head for a moment, only to see the Rancor charging in their direction when she looked back at it. She jumped backward in surprise, only to fall into Hakan.

He gripped hers just as tightly, staying perfectly quiet, trying his best not to alert the foraging monster that they had stumbled upon by simply staying in a hut, but it was high time that they got out of here. He noted her abilities to keep them invisible, so contact was mandatory. He was going to hold this hand literally as if his life depended on it.

But suddenly the Rancor seemed to focus their attention on them, and with that Morgaine jumped back, Hakan instinctively caught her, both arms under her ribcage, breaking any potential fall and keeping her upright, if a Rancor was attacking you had better stay mobile, falling was a ticket for death against one.
He made sure she was back on her feet, he grabbed her hand and now had to make a beeline right out of here. "Quick!" Allowing her to pass ahead of him before he quickly outstretched his hand, sending a blast of Force Lightning towards the Rancor in an attempt to buy them some time, the sheer amount of kilowatts to be used as some form of taser for it, at least giving them hopefully a second to gain some ground as they ran. He zapped it until he was out of range.

Morgaine raced through the undergrowth, pulling Hakan with her. Her feet were light and quick, and with each footfall she made almost no sound. The Rancor had not seen them. It was temporarily dazed by Hakan's lightning, and remained confused for a few minutes before trudging after them once again. As they continued sprinting through the forest, it soon became apparent what had caught the rancor's attention. Before them was the vastness of one of the many swamps. This, Morgaine expected. What she didn't expect, however, was to find a dragonsnake battling a swamp slug. She swore. "Tis just my luck..." She muttered bitterly. With the Rancor closing in on the aquatic battlefield, they were both going to have to find another way out.

Hakan raced along with her, having sufficiently dazed the Rancor, the Sith Lightning did take a toll on his force reserves after a while so he was glad he stopped using it sooner than later in a case which they needed to defend themselves and he required the Force. Hakan's heart was racing, adrenaline pumping through his veins, he hadn't seen such a large and imposing creature in his young life so this was all a new experience to him, he knew that Rancors could rip people to shreds. They were very storied and infamous beasts so the quicker he avoided them the better.

What was different though, was this. "Morgaine. Any ideas?" He spoke as he clutched her hand tightly, he figured he could probably shock the swamp water and end up hopefully electrocuting the two swamp creatures in the process. But they were still immense, his force lightning was incredibly strong for a Sith Acolyte, but it wasn't likely to be strong enough to actually kill one of these things unless he drained his entire force reserves, which would leave him weakened, and weakened wasn't recommended in these kinds of environments.

He clutched his saber in his other hand, ready to act.

Morgaine glanced back and forth between the three creatures. Getting around them unnoticed was going to be tricky. She noticed a small crawlspace of some kind across from them. It was most likely the den of some other man-eating creature. However, upon bending slightly to look through it, she saw a shaft of light coming from the other side. If they dug through the end, they might just make it out of this unharmed. The only problem was getting through this battle. "Oh, I have one. But you may have to think a little crazily if we want it to work," She said, gesturing to the tunnel.

He too couldn't help but let his eyes wander around, a desperate attempt to get themselves out of the brawl that was pretty much inevitable over very territorial creatures. They had to clear off of here and fast, he actually found himself relieved when she finally had an idea to escape, it wouldn't be too ludicrous. Any escape route would work at this point because they needed to save their skin.

And this saving grace was a mere tunnel. "What's the plan? Dig?" He spoke quickly, the quicker they got to it, the better.

Morgaine nodded quickly. "Tis either dig, or fight off your choice of creature. This is your journey, not mine. Which shall it be?" Though Morgaine did not relish the thought of fighting a rancor, a swamp slug, and a dragonsnake. However, she had promised Hakan to take him up the mountain, and she did not break her promises.

He seemed visibly perplexed, he had to dig with nothing to dig with and that seemed rather annoying but at the same time fighting three of these ravenous beasts at once was easily considered suicide, so with that he quickly commenced digging using his hands, this was no doubt one of the more embarassing things he had done but now was no time for shame. "Could I get some assistance?" He huffed, furiously clawing away at the dirt with his gloved hands.

Moragaine rolled her eyes. "Men. Always acting before they think." She pulled him away from the tunnel. The invisibility spell she had cast was gone, but luckily the three beasts were too busy killing each other to notice them. Morgaine channeled what little Force power she could control and weaved it into her next spell. She used her staff to draw the dirt from the end of the tunnel. It swirled in the air above the staff in a sort of spiral before forming a neat little pile next to her feet. She then got down on her hands and knees and began crawling.

Hakan felt immensely stupid. "Now what's the point of even learning the ways of the Force if you're not going to use them, imbecile?" He mentally insulted his own intelligence, he could've literally force-pulled everything out, not as if Hakan was a weak force user, not by any means. In any case he quickly got to his hands and knees and snuck through this tunnel. Dark and dirty, wonderful. Hygiene was obviously something which didn't get much attention here on Dagobah, so a nice warm shower seemed ages away from his reach, as did he ship, infact as they had to go through a four-day trek. That kept ringing through his mind, that also meant eating some of this planet's questionable wildlife.

Morgaine smirked at the tiny grimace on Hakan's face when she looked back at him. It was ever so amusing to see what bothers others. She crawled out the other side. "Well, that was an adventure. It looks like we're still heading in the right direction, so that is good." She grinned as she watched him crawl out behind her. He was a bit more dirty than her at this point. "Dirt does not bide well by you, I take it?" She said, a slight hint of cruelty in her mocking tone.

Following this obvious embarassment he tried his hardest to erase that brief moment of idiocy from his mind completely. "Thank the stars for that." He sighed as he ruffled his hair as it had accumulated dirt from crawling through the tunnel space. "It'd be bothering the people around me more than it bothers myself." He half chuckled, Hakan was merely a slave before, still adjusting to his new surroundings among the Sith, and adjusting to them yet again through this, Dagobah was by far the least pleasant place that he had been to but he used it as an opportunity to explore a bit. However he did need to head back swiftly, 4 days without contact would've been rather worrying.

In truth Hakan was rather enjoying her company, he could literally be left to his own skills here but it wasn't anywhere near as interesting as having someone to travel with in this dark, desolate place. Might as well make the most of it though. "So, where to?"

Morgaine looked up at the forest canopy. Judging by the direction of what little rays of sunlight she could see, it was still morning. Good. That hadn't taken as long as she'd thought. She bent down and tested the soil with her fingers. It was a fraction drier than the soil they had been crossing before. Soil near and on the mountain was less moist because of the increased altitude. The difference between the two was so small that only someone with a trained eye and sense of touch would notice it. "This way," She said, walking into the dense weave of plants.
