Intent: To provide a means of training Assassins in more exciting ways, making the impossible in canon possible since the world won't be real, yet the practice will be applicable outside the machine. Varied opponents and challenges can be written without having to stretch lore or story.
Development Thread: None
Manufacturer: Sith Assassins
Model: VIRTUA-1
Affiliation: Sith Assassins
Modularity: The Virtual worlds are created by Keepers who can link with the VIRTUA machine.
Production: Limited
Material: Durasteel, Nerve-Readers, Stimulating Chemicals.

Description: With more and more Initiates joining the Assassin order, the ratio of Masters to Students is growing out of proportion. Varied training methods become old and difficult to achieve when trying to keep a larger group in secrecy. To combat this, the Assassins hired scientists and engineers to create a solution, and then killed them afterwards. The VIRTUA machine places the person (or people, if multiple machines are connected together) in a coma-like trance through sedative. In this state their nerves are intercepted and read by the machine, those going to the spine and the brain. This is then translated into movement in the virtual world, and these nerves can also be stimulated to simulate pain or simple sense of touch. A screen is displayed right infront of the user who, in their trance-like state, will percieve it as reality and when they turn in the virtual world, their screen turns with them. All of this gives the virtual world the same senses as the real world; with a mix of injected chemicals and images on the screen.

To the virtual worlds can only be created and opened up by a Keeper, since the machine is specifically programmed for communicating with them. Since most Assassins are assigned a Keeper assistant, they can train other assassins through the virtual world by telling their Keeper what situation they would like and entering the world themselves. Rare exceptions who have no assigned Assassin, such as Keeper Prime, can train Assassins on their own using the simulation and any knowledge they have.

The machine does not have the capabilities of storing knowledge and passing it on itself, the teaching must come from a person or keeper. This is merely a means of delivering training in varied situations that the Assassins may find themselves in, perfect for honing their skills.
