Sith experience the inverse (various on the individual's perception): the crystal forces them to witness themselves powerless, aging, or broken, a psychological attack engineered to erode their pride at its foundations. Neutral Force users fare no better; the crystal dives through their thoughts like a data-mining probe, pulling out whatever primal fear lies buried deepest and rendering it with brutal sensory clarity, that can leave long-term scars that feel less like memories and more like corrupted system files embedded in the mind. During these hallucinations, the linked individual can feel vulnerable, mentally drained and weakened.

DESCRIPTION

The Villtramite Crystals were first discovered on Qina when a Sith exploratory team detected an anomalous interference pattern radiating from deep beneath the planet's polar ocean. They deployed submersible drones into the trench and uncovered an underwater cavern lined with crystals that flickered like static trapped in mineral form, an immediate signal that the find had weaponization potential. Weeks later, after tracking the same planetary disturbances but unaware the Sith had beaten them there, a Jedi survey unit descended into the caverns and recovered their own samples. Only afterward did they realize the site had already been disturbed, the subtle scarring on the cavern floor reading like fingerprints of a rival.

The Sith discovered the Villtramite Crystals' true nature during an early weaponization project, when a Sith engineer integrated a shard into a prototype lightsaber for field suppression testing. The moment the activation sequence synced with the crystal's frequency, the Force-sensitive technician overseeing the test staggered back as his connection to the Force dropped to a thin, flickering thread; as well as affecting those around him in the same manner. More disturbing was what followed: he reported seeing a frail, emaciated version of himself standing beside the dead saber, whispering accusations in his own voice after the saber was deactivated. Subsequent trials repeated the effect with ruthless consistency. Every Sith who linked to a Villtramite-powered saber experienced crippling Force suppression followed by hallucinations engineered to puncture their ego—visions of weakness, failure, and decay. The Sith concluded that the crystals were not inert components but active disruptors, reacting to the user's psyche with malicious precision.

When the Jedi later acquired fragments of Villtramite during a separate investigation, they approached the crystals with scientific caution, unaware of the Sith's catastrophic attempts. Their researchers installed a shard into a test saber under isolation protocols, monitoring for energy anomalies. The moment the blade engaged, the room's ambient Force resonance plummeted—veteran Jedi described it as having their senses forcibly unplugged. And then the visions began. Jedi who merely held the saber after deactivation reported vivid, intrusive hallucinations: old regrets replayed with surgical clarity, faces of the fallen appearing in the blade's glow, decisions they never made but felt responsible for. The crystal within the saber wasn't malfunctioning—it was broadcasting personalized psychological attacks.

Within weeks, both Orders independently reached the same chilling conclusion: Villtramite Crystals weren't designed to empower a lightsaber—they weaponized the blade against its wielder and their opposition. Instead of amplifying the Force, they strangled it, injecting hallucinations that targeted the user's deepest vulnerabilities. For Sith, it was a mirror of their own frailty, for Jedi, a perversion of their moral foundations. And for anyone caught between?
