Vidorr Berand is the loyal enforcer of Lord Protector Tilarnus the First. A loyal husband and loving father, Vidorr is also the Black Hand's Overseer, a professional assassin and murderous psychopath.

HISTORY
Nobody knows that much about Vidorr, not even the ones he keeps close. His past life -the one before Tilarnus-, is pretty much hidden from everyone, including His Majesty. Vidorr is ashamed of it -that's the only reason one would use all his influence in the Black Hand to hid it, right? All we know is what's apparent: Vidorr was born in Corellia. On the slums, forced to work as a child to keep his bosses happy and their corporation profitable, to keep his family alive.
He was 18 years old when he first met Tilarnus, the City's Governor, during his election campaign. He was snobbed when he tried to talk to the Governor - but of course he would, he was just a street kid. And yet, something told him this was his chance to get out of this miserable life. The other candidate was honest, yes, even for his own good. Vidorr found evidence this honest candidate's wife was involved with terrorist separatist groups in Talus -nothing too much, only some small donations to NGOs that acted as their front, but everything could be overblown. And overblown it was.
Vidorr was accepted by Tilarnus, and slowly got himself the position of Bodyguard. Nobody knows what happened to his family in Corellia.
When his boss was indicated as Savoun's heir, Vidorr followed him and got the opportunity to lead the Black Hand, an elite spy/special operations secret agency.
Throughout his journey with Tilarnus, Vidorr had to kill, lie and exploit people his boss didn't even know to ensure Tilarnus kept ascending, kept doing what he does best and offer stability, both to his employees and -surprisingly- to the planets he governed.

PERSONALITY
Vidorr may appear as a loving, kind and gentle husband and father - and he actually is that. But that's not all. Vidorr is Tilarnus' weapon, and will do everything to keep him safe; he owes him that much. Everything else that isn't Tilarnus and his family isn't real, it's merely a mask. The sympathetic man everyone sees is a facade, an actor playing a scene.
For much time, Vidorr actually enjoyed killing. Today, though, it's as automatic as riding a bike for him; it's a boring sensation. But again, this is his life. He is content with it. If he just keeps killing, it means his family has something to eat at the end of the day, he tells himself that.
Mr. Berand doesn't do what he does out of ambition. He's perfectly happy with the life he has. It pays well, has good benefits, and Tilarnus is a good enough boss. His wife and daughter couldn't be more perfect. All he needs to do is keep killing.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Weapon - Vidorr has devouted his life to serve Tilarnus. Not only following his orders, mind you, but doing thing Tilarnus doesn't even know he needs done. For that single task, Vidorr trained Teras Kasi and Echani martial arts; he knows how to use most kind of blasters, how to use a knife, how to safely use a grenade, all you need to keep Tilarnus winning.
Acting Masterclass - Mr. Berand learned how to mask his feelings and intent. His friends, family, the ones "closer" to him, nobody knows what lies within. And if it depends of his ability to act, they'll keep blissfully unaware.
Unmoved - Vidorr doesn't feel like other humans do. He feels joy, love - at least he thinks he does -, but nothing really disturbs him or puts fear in his eyes. Everything might be merely a problem that requires a solution, and the Overseer knows how to solve it.
Enforcer - As important as killing is the logistics of what comes before and after it. Disposing bodies, creating fake stories, finding the best place and time for murder, preparing weapons. All this sort of stuff, Vidorr's simply accustomed to it.
Washing Machine Heart - While he can mask his true feelings -or lack thereof-, nothing changes the fact he's living a lie. Even his wife and daughter have no idea who he truly is. Sometimes, Vidorr wonders to himself if it's worth it to keep this veil of lies going, and if it's not best to just show them who he truly is; if they'll accept him the way he is. And the answer's always the same: no, they won't.
Hidden identity - As the Black Hand's Overseer, Vidorr has to keep his identity completely hidden from political enemies, terrorists and other threats. He knows someone could always leak it, and it'd make his life go to hell.
Family - Vidorr loves his family. But they're still something that could be exploited by his enemies.
