SPECIAL FEATURES
- Wormhole Generation
- The Veyra generates an artificial wormhole directly connecting two distant regions of space. The opening process takes only 5 to 10 seconds, allowing starships to reach their destinations almost instantaneously.
- Stable Wormhole Transit
- The Veyra stabilizes the wormhole to ensure safe and controlled passage. The connection can remain open for several minutes, allowing multiple starships to pass through consecutively without significant risk, provided all operating conditions are respected.
- AAR MKI Antimatter Reactor
- The system is powered by the AAR MKI antimatter reactor, capable of generating 1 exawatt of power. This energy supply allows the Veyra to create, stabilize, and maintain wormholes, providing the immense amount of energy required for the technology to function.
- Compact Integration
- The Veyra can be installed aboard frigates or smaller vessels, including corvettes and certain transport ships, provided they possess sufficient space and the necessary power infrastructure.
- Safe Spatial Navigation
- Before each activation, the system verifies both departure and destination coordinates to ensure that both ends of the wormhole are located within safe regions of space.
STRENGTHS
- Near-Instantaneous Travel
- The Veyra allows starships to cross distances in seconds that would normally require several hours or days of conventional hyperspace travel.
- Safe and Stable Passage
- The generated wormholes are maintained in a stable condition, ensuring reliable transportation whenever the required safety conditions are met.
- Multiple Ship Transit
- A single wormhole can accommodate multiple starships passing through consecutively, without requiring each vessel to possess its own generator.
- Independent Navigation
- The Veyra does not rely on traditional hyperspace routes and requires no receiving installation at its destination.
- Compact Technology
- The system can be installed aboard relatively small starships without requiring enormous space stations or permanent installations.
WEAKNESSES
- Gravitational Restrictions
- The Veyra cannot open wormholes near planets, stars, black holes, supernovae, or other dangerous gravitational phenomena. Both ends of the wormhole must be positioned within clear and secure regions of space.
- Planetary Blockades
- The Veyra cannot be used to directly bypass planetary blockades. Starships must emerge at a sufficient safety distance and approach their destination using conventional propulsion, leaving them vulnerable to interception.
- Power Dependency
- The system requires the AAR MKI reactor's power output to operate. Without this energy supply, it cannot generate or maintain wormholes.
- Limited Opening Duration
- A wormhole cannot remain open indefinitely and must be closed after several minutes of continuous operation.
- Accurate Coordinates
- The generator requires reliable navigational coordinates. It will refuse to open a wormhole if the destination cannot be confirmed as a safe location.
DESCRIPTION
The Veyra is an advanced space navigation technology developed in complete secrecy by the Mirialan scientist Nyva Shei, following approximately four years of research conducted on Level -8 of the Formac Laboratory. Her objective was to develop an alternative to conventional hyperdrive technology by exploiting wormholes to drastically reduce interstellar travel times.
The principle behind the Veyra can be illustrated using a simple sheet of paper. If two points are placed at opposite ends of the sheet, the conventional route requires traveling the entire distance separating them. However, by folding the sheet until the two points are brought together, a direct passage can be created between them, eliminating the need to travel the original distance.
The Veyra applies this principle to spacetime itself. Its gravitational generators establish a connection between two distant regions of the galaxy, creating a spatial tunnel that starships can safely traverse in a matter of moments.
The primary challenge encountered during development was the enormous amount of energy required to create and maintain these passages. This obstacle was ultimately overcome through the integration of the AAR MKI antimatter reactor, capable of producing 1 exawatt of power. Its exceptional energy output provided the missing power necessary to make the technology fully operational.
With this energy supply, the Veyra can open a wormhole in just 5 to 10 seconds and maintain its stability for several minutes, allowing multiple vessels to travel through the same passage consecutively.
Unlike conventional hyperdrives, starships using the Veyra do not enter hyperspace. Instead, they travel through a direct shortcut in spacetime, allowing them to reach extremely distant destinations in a fraction of the time normally required.
The system also ensures safe transit through its advanced navigation computers, which verify the gravitational conditions at both ends of the connection before activation. Wormholes can therefore only be opened within sufficiently clear regions of space, away from planets, stars, black holes, and other phenomena that could interfere with their stability.
This restriction prevents the Veyra from opening passages directly near planetary surfaces or within the immediate vicinity of planetary blockades, ensuring that conventional defensive operations remain effective.
Designed for installation aboard frigates or smaller vessels equipped with the necessary infrastructure, the Veyra provides a reliable and exceptionally fast alternative to traditional hyperspace travel.
The result of four years of clandestine research, this technology allows wormholes to be used as a practical, stable, and secure method of interstellar transportation, provided that all required navigational safety conditions are respected.
