COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon of Choice:
- AT-AE MKIII (Iron Fang) with Enforcer Mass Driver Cannon
- LO-12S sidearm
- LO-10M
Combat Function:
Drosh is a frontline armored commander, excelling at spearhead breakthroughs and siege assaults. His walker Iron Fang anchors infantry lines and drives wedges into enemy fortifications. Outside his vehicle, Drosh is competent but no duelist his combat role revolves around leading, coordinating, and applying armored might where the Sword needs it most.
Strengths:
- Combined Arms Specialist: Exceptional at coordinating infantry and armor, making him deadly effective in joint operations.
- Siege Intuition: Years of breaching fortified positions give him a gut-level sense for weak points in enemy defenses.
- Steady Under Fire: Rarely rattled, even when taking losses; his composure prevents panic from spreading through the line.
- Inspirational Leader: His calm, blunt leadership style keeps morale high — soldiers trust his judgment even in desperate situations.
- Technical Knowledge: Capable mechanic; understands walker systems well enough to assist in field repairs if needed.
Weaknesses:
- Stubborn Commander: Once he commits to a strategy, he can be slow to change course, even when the situation shifts.
- Tunnel Vision: Over-focuses on immediate objectives (e.g., "break that wall") and sometimes misses wider tactical plays.
- Physical Wear: Decades in service have left him with lingering injuries (bad knee, scarred lungs from smoke inhalation) that limit endurance on foot.
- Overconfidence in Armor: Believes heavily in the superiority of tanks/walkers; can underestimate threats like aerial strikes, orbital fire, or unconventional tactics.
- Risk to Crew: Because he prioritizes his crew, he may disobey high command or pull back early — potentially jeopardizing mission success.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Captain Veynar Drosh was born on Corellia to a family of dockworkers, raised in the shadows of starship hulls and orbital yards. Like many Corellians, he was instilled early with a strong sense of independence and grit, but his youth was marked by hardship. The chaos of local criminal syndicates cost him both parents by the time he was sixteen, and he enlisted with the Lilaste Order during their early recruitment drives, seeing in them both purpose and a way off-world.
Initially trained as standard infantry, Drosh demonstrated exceptional aptitude with armored warfare and battlefield coordination. He had an instinct for reading terrain, spotting weak points in fortifications, and coordinating combined arms assaults between infantry and walkers. Commander Julian Tarain himself took note after Drosh's squad managed to rescue pinned elements of soldiers that would later form the Razor Maw Platoon during the siege of Ropagi II. Instead of waiting for reinforcement, Drosh commandeered a half-damaged AT-AS walker, jury-rigged its targeting controls, and used it to smash through pirate barricades. His initiative saved over thirty soldiers and earned him a field promotion.
By the time of the Mon Cala campaign, Drosh had risen to command one of the first AT-AE Walkers. During the Siege of Dac, he was at the forefront of the initial island landings, spearheading the effort to neutralize entrenched Mon Cal turbolaser batteries. His walker provided suppressive fire and craters for advancing infantry, while he personally directed the rescue of downed gunship crews stranded in no man's land. Drosh bore witness to one of the Order's defining moments, when Laphisto himself stood atop a walker deflecting incoming missiles and turbolaser strikes, an act Drosh would later describe as the spark that solidified his faith in the Order's destiny. For his performance, he was awarded the Crimson Crest Citation for valor in armored assault.
On Serenno, Captain Drosh and the Iron Fang fought in the infamous Mystral Canyon ambush, where Sith forces sprung a coordinated strike against advancing Diarchy and Lilaste Order columns. His walker was among the first to deploy into the canyon floor, providing heavy fire to cover pinned infantry squads under devastating crossfire. When Sith artillery began collapsing canyon walls, Drosh held his ground long enough for evacuation gunships to deploy reinforcements. His decision to anchor the defense around the Iron Fang kept the column from total collapse and allowed Commander Tarain's battalion to regroup. By the time Diarch Rellik's signal drew additional Order forces into the canyon, Drosh's walker was battered but still firing, earning him the nickname "Iron Fang" among the survivors.
Today, Captain Drosh is considered one of Tarain's Sword's most reliable armored commanders. His name carries weight within the battalion, symbolizing the balance between ferocity and survival that has become the Lilaste Order's hallmark. Among his peers he is respected as a practical, unflinching officer; among his enemies he is feared as the commander whose walker seems to endure against all odds.
