Name: Veyla Krinn
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Homeworld: Mandalore
Affiliation: Freelance Mandalorian, formerly of House Kryze, independent
Occupation: Mercenary, Bounty Hunter
Appearance:
- Height: 5'9"
- Build: Athletic, lean but strong—a result of years of combat, survival, and training.
- Hair: Fiery red, short and practical, with a tight braid down her back. Her hair sometimes falls into her face during combat, but she brushes it aside with an intensity that matches her spirit.
- Eyes: Emerald green, intense and piercing. Her eyes often seem like they're seeing more than just the physical world around her, an unintentional reflection of her latent Force sensitivity.
- Skin Tone: Fair, with a few faint scars across her cheek and hands from past battles.
- Armor: Her custom-made beskar'gam armor is matte black with crimson accents. A few ancient markings from House Kryze adorn her left pauldron, serving as both a tribute to her fallen clan and a reminder of her family's legacy. The armor has seen many battles, a visual testament to her survivalist mentality.
Personality:
- Resilient: Veyla is tough, shaped by loss, betrayal, and the harsh realities of a galaxy in constant flux. But she doesn't back down; she's determined to carve a future for her people.
- Independent: She relies on her own strength and skills to get by, and though she's loyal to her people, she doesn't trust easily, having learned the hard way that most people will abandon you when it suits them.
- Haunted: She feels a deep, unshakable sense of loss—her clan, her family, and her homeworld. But she channels that pain into her desire to rebuild Mandalore and give her people a future.
- Subtle Intuition: Without knowing it, her Force sensitivity manifests in small, intuitive moments—feeling the presence of others when they're nearby, sensing danger before it arrives, or instinctively reacting in combat. It's as though something within her knows more than she consciously understands.
- Strategic: She's an emerging leader, skilled at reading situations and making calculated decisions, but sometimes her impulsiveness gets the better of her, leading to reckless decisions.
Backstory:
At just 25 years old, Veyla Krinn has already lived through more loss than most Mandalorians experience in a lifetime. Born into House Kryze, a once-proud clan that fought for Mandalore's independence during the Clone Wars, Veyla grew up under the shadow of conflict and tradition. But after the Great Purge that decimated Mandalore, Veyla was left without family or allies. She wandered the galaxy as a bounty hunter and mercenary, taking jobs that ranged from high-risk bounties to working for various factions—always keeping her past hidden. During these years, she honed her skills in combat, piloting, and survival, all while avoiding the watchful eyes of both the New Galactic Republic and remnants of the Empire.
Unbeknownst to her, she's Force-sensitive—an inherited trait that runs in her bloodline. This ability manifests in subtle ways—an uncanny ability to feel danger, sometimes using reflexes that feel too quick for her own understanding. She can sometimes "sense" when people are lying to her, or when she's being watched, though she writes it off as experience and instincts. However, in moments of heightened emotional stress, there's a brief surge of power—almost like the Force is trying to push through—but she doesn't recognize these sensations for what they truly are.
Her goal is simple: survive, rebuild Mandalore, and protect the few who remain of her people. But, as her journey continues, she begins to feel something stirring deep within her, a growing pull toward the unknown. It's the Force, reaching out to her. But she has no idea how to tap into it or even that it exists within her. Her future, and the future of Mandalore, may depend on discovering the truth of her powers.
Skills & Abilities:
- Expert Combatant: As a Mandalorian, Veyla is trained in both blaster combat and melee weapons, including her beskar spear and vibroblade. She's highly skilled in both ranged and close-quarters combat.
- Tactical Genius: Veyla has a natural ability to read the battlefield, making quick, strategic decisions in the heat of battle. She's excellent at anticipating enemy movements, even sensing danger before it arrives—though she attributes this to her heightened instincts, not the Force.
- Force Sensitivity(Unaware): Her latent Force powers occasionally manifest in moments of extreme danger or stress. For example:
- Precognition: She sometimes "feels" danger or a threat before it occurs, giving her a brief advantage in combat situations.
- Telekinesis: On rare occasions, in moments of panic or intense emotion, she's unconsciously moved objects or pushed enemies back with a sudden surge of power.
- Heightened Reflexes: Her natural reflexes are quick, but sometimes they feel almost inhuman—this is a result of her subconscious Force abilities, which give her a slight edge in combat.
- Piloting: She's an excellent pilot, especially with Mandalorian ships and older models.
- Survival Skills: Veyla's years spent surviving in the wilds of Mandalore and the Outer Rim have made her resourceful, able to thrive in harsh environments and improvise when resources are scarce.
- Mandalorian Leadership: Although she is not yet a full-fledged leader, she has begun to command respect from other Mandalorians. Her influence is growing, and people are starting to follow her vision for the future.
Weaknesses:
- Unaware of Her Force Sensitivity: Veyla's greatest weakness is her lack of knowledge about her Force abilities. She experiences moments of strange connection to the world around her, but she doesn't understand them and often dismisses them as instinct or coincidence. This makes her vulnerable to enemies who can use the Force against her, and she is unaware of the full extent of her own power.
- Impulsiveness: While Veyla's instincts are sharp, her impulsiveness can sometimes cloud her judgment, especially when her emotions get the best of her. This leads her to rush into dangerous situations without fully considering the consequences.
- Emotional Instability: Veyla's deep sense of loss and anger from her past can sometimes overwhelm her. When her emotions are high, it may unintentionally trigger Force powers that she can't control, causing chaotic or unpredictable results. This makes her vulnerable in stressful situations, as the Force might manifest in ways she can't direct.
- Guilt and Isolation: Veyla's strong sense of guilt over the fall of her clan and the loss of her family can sometimes cause her to push others away, even those who might want to help her. She feels as though she's burdened with the responsibility of rebuilding Mandalore alone. This leads to her emotional isolation and makes it difficult for her to trust others fully.
- Physical Vulnerabilities: Though Veyla is tough, she is not invincible. Her reliance on her beskar armor gives her protection, but without it, she's vulnerable to blaster fire and other forms of damage. Her overconfidence at times can cause her to take risks that put her physical well-being in jeopardy.
Notable Quote:
"I've lived through enough loss to know that survival isn't enough. If I'm going to rebuild Mandalore, I need to understand what's really out there—what's inside me."Current Mission/Goals:
- Discover the Truth of Her Powers: As her Force sensitivity begins to manifest more strongly, Veyla seeks answers—although she has no idea how to start her search. She may find help in unexpected places, like Force-sensitive allies or ancient Mandalorian relics.
- Protect Her People: As the galaxy continues to shift, she is determined to keep her people safe from both the New Republic and the remnants of the Empire—and she'll fight to do so, even if it means making difficult choices.
