SETTING INFORMATION

- Accessibility: The Verborir facility is highly isolated within the foggy outlands of Umbara, with small checkpoints on each side before the actual main gate of the facility. The facility itself is off-limits to anyone without specific Deshra Labs clearance, and further areas of the facility require higher clearance levels depending on the sensitivty of the information or technology within. There are landing pads around the base, though these aren't many and more are still being constructed over time. An underground parking garage is available past the main gate for Deshra Labs staff who use personal speeders.
- Population: The facility houses not only science and research personnel, but training sergeants, cooks, logistics staff, coordinators and the large numbers of clones being grown there that are both the purpose of the facility and the main security force that protects it.
- Security: Deshra Security Forces that staff the base consist of the vat-grown Clone soldiers that have been raised on Zeltros before being transferred to the Verborir base to protect it. Armed with the same kind of equipment as Deshra External Teams, there are other automated security measures such as scanners, small shield gates and visual cameras to detect intruders. Along with this, guard towers for snipers along with E-Web mounted guns give extra protection against a potential attack.
- Description: From the outside, the Verborir Research and Development Center, as it is officially called on Umbaran records looks closer to a clandestine base or some form of miltary blacksite than it does any kind of research facility. The uniformed and helmeted armed guards and looming security towers give an obvious impression that whoever's approaching, they most likely aren't welcome here. Chain link fences and barbed wire decorate the farthest point of the perimeter for the most base form of security, more to discourage vandals and curious teenagers.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Rearing Labs: The Rearing Labs, or 'Nursery' Labs as they've been nicknamed, are the main subterranean area of the facility where the clones are grown in vats. It's also within these lab facilities that the youngest clones sleep, eat and learn military tactics and combat skills while receiving their basic education and indoctrination to remove all traces of individuality as efficiently as possible, and to make the children see themselves as a unit, rather than as multiple people working together. These facilities include the actual vat labs, classrooms, bunks, dining rooms and a couple of security stations.
Biolabs: The Biolabs are the minor underground area of the facility; here, clones with severe defects or those who have died are dissected and used for further testing and experimentation to test the limits of how Deshra can make more effective and genetically sound clones for specific purposes. Other forms of Biological research takes place here as well, though these projects are often less staffed and less focused upon. These facilities are mainly labs, with another couple of security stations.
Training Yard: The largest surface area of the Verborir Center, the training yard is not just one yard, but multiple outdoor facilities and buildings including exercise yards, obstacle courses, large amounts of bunks, shooting ranges, classrooms and soundproofed buildings used for testing of explosives-based weaponry. This is where Clone personnel, once they have grown to peak physical condition, have been selectd for their role in the company and appropriately altered, are trained and instructed by their various Sergeants. Clones are seperated into large military-structure units and led by one instructor, who is usually an experienced mercenary or military veteran that has been brought in by Deshra for the express purpose of this training.
Selection Labs: The Selection Labs, or 'Pit Stop' as it's been nicknamed by some training sergeants, is the last place a prospective clone contractor will go before he is sent to serve in the Deshra External Teams, Security Forces or other, more shadowy roles. The prospect will go through a number of mental and physical tests to see if he or she is genetically standard or an outlier, and if they'll be sent to a different instructor for a different role, or to the Biolabs.
Security Hub: This area is primarily where security personnel are based and live; it contains bunks, an armoury with most of the facility's weapons and armour, a security center which monitors the cameras, scanners and shield gates along with the private residences provided for the training sergeants currently under contract.
Processing Port: A relatively small facility attached to the Center, the Processing Port houses Hangars for transport ships ferrying graduated clones off-world and to Zeltros, as well as arriving Security Forces who have been trained on Zeltros and are being brought in. Supplies and Personnel are also flown in here, with most personnel being assigned living space in the city not far from the Center, with Instructors and certain others being given accommodation on-site.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Verborir Research and Development Center was named and built after Magnus Deshra came to the world to propose a deal to a particularly wealthy and land-owning Umbaran in charge of one of the large cities on the world - Magnus asked for land permissions and building materials, along with all records of the deal and what was given being destroyed, in return for some security personnel and a good deal of credits towards said Umbaran. The deal was readily accepted, and construction began almost immediately. Magnus Deshra oversaw the construction and implementation of the facility personally, and took part as one of the training instructors for one of the first batch of 'Graduate' clone contractors.
The subterranean facilities were actually one of the first parts of the Center that were built, with the surface buildings and training facilities coming afterwards. More defenses were erected after a small spat of intruders, mainly vandals and curious miscreants who were easily caught, questioned and sent on their way. With the facility now operating at mostly full efficiency with the exception of some landing pads and hangars still under construction, the Research and Development Center is in full swing with company operations.
