ATTRIBUTES:
+ Highly Trained: Growing up surrounded by Police who were essentially family, and then going into and through several levels of Police to end up as a Special Weapons and Tactics operator, followed by the Antarian Ranger training has given Vera a high level of skill with various weapon systems.
+ Urban Operator: Her Police training on Coruscant obviously focused on urban environments, and as such Vera has a high level of competency moving through such environs and maintaining tactical awareness even in the densest crowds and narrow alleys.
~ The Right Way: Vera has been raised, trained, and conditioned to believe in her gut sense of what is right. She will act on that whether others believe the same, and can sometimes get into trouble because of it.
- Grieving: Vera left Coruscant on the word of her husband, and now that he is gone she has no where to focus her grief except into her work. This makes her hard to get to know, and sometimes hard to work with.
BIOGRAPHY:
Vera was born and raised on Coruscant, in one of the many slums colloquially referred to as Subs for their location far beneath the towering heights of the upper class. Her parents were scraping by as best they could, but they couldn't keep the unruly, wild child that Vera had been in line while doing so. She often had interactions with the Coruscant Police, often being detained for petty crimes. She eventually ended up under the wings of several officers who helped raise her.
No one was surprised when, after graduating from what passed for primary education in the slums of Coruscant, Vera joined the Coruscant Police. She graduated near the top of her class form the academy, and requested patrol assignment in some of the worst crime rate areas. Her plan was always to pay it forward. She spent a couple of years on patrol before qualifying for the departments special weapons and tactics group. The training for that wasn't as easy as the academy, but she passed it easily just the same.
When the Galactic Alliance fell, it left Coruscant in troubled hands. Many officers of the Coruscant Police were essentially turned into veritable Stormtroopers, forced to enforce ever increasingly bad policies and laws. During this time of upheaval, Vera met a young man who turned out to be an undercover Antarian Ranger. This man also eventually became her husband, and they took their honeymoon on Kashyyyk. They just never came back.
Vera had trouble after she left with Coruscant, she hadn't really wanted to leave, but her husband convinced her that she could do more help by fighting the fascist rule from Silver Jedi space, rather than rack up disciplinary actions from her new superiors. She joined the Antarian Rangers, but was split into a different unit from her husband due to standard procedure. That was why she wasn't with him when he was killed in the line of duty.
The Rangers offered Vera leave, but all she knew from her time in Silver Jedi space was her husband, and the Rangers. She had nothing to do if she wasn't working, so instead of grieving, she threw herself into her work.
