Vega Askani is a Force-sensitive traveler, freelance courier and occasional bounty hunter belonging to Clan Askani, a culture of Force-users, warriors, and agents descended spiritually and culturally from the teachings of Mother Askani. Born in 1045 ABY, Askani was raised to recognize and navigate fractures in the Force known as Force ruptures. Like others of her lineage, she possesses an affinity for mental and extrasensory abilities, though her education extends beyond the traditions of the Jedi.
While investigating a rupture whose effects reverberated across time, Vega and fellow traveler Daelon were displaced. Stranded centuries from home, Vega survived along the galactic fringe as a courier and occasional bounty hunter while honing the Askani disciplines necessary to navigate the ruptures. Her growing command of those abilities eventually allowed the pair to trace the disturbance to 905 ABY, bringing them closer to its origins and into the lifetime of Mother Askani, and the beginning of Clan Askani itself.

◆. Askani Conditioning – Raised among the Askani, Vega was taught to guard her thoughts, recognize psychic intrusion, and operate around telepaths. This makes her naturally guarded and difficult to read, but she can be equally reluctant to open herself completely to others. And by extension her Force education is broad but unconventional. Askani training emphasized survival, mental discipline, pathfinding, anchoring and specialized techniques rather than the comprehensive curriculum of say i.e a Jedi Order.
◆. Hypersensitive Hearing – Vega hears exceptionally well, but that's not entirely beneficial. Extremely loud or high-frequency sounds can overwhelm her more easily than an average human.
▼. Poor Night Vision – Vega's eyesight adjusts slowly to low-light environments. Without her senses she is considerably less effective in darkness.
▼. Anesthetic Allergy – Vega is severely allergic to several commonly used anesthetics, complicating surgical procedures and emergency medical treatment.▼. Traveler's Exhaustion – Askani pathfinding isn't teleportation, and it doesn't come without consequences. Navigating Force ruptures is a risk and science that requires a particular skillset, intense concentration, physical endurance, and mentally resolving the right underlying calculations, with no reel guarantees – it can leave you physically exhausted and mentally depleted, sometimes for days or weeks at a time. Greater distances, unstable ruptures, or attempts to deliberately navigate toward a particular destination dramatically increase the strain.
▼. Temporal Scarring – Repeated displacement through unstable Force ruptures has left subtle physiological damage. Vega experiences intermittent bouts of tremors, sensory disturbance, and sometimes phantom pain associated with prior injuries. The tremor in one hand becomes more pronounced under physical exhaustion, stress, or after extensive Force use. Usually negligible, but fine motor control and precision become increasingly difficult when she's pushed too far.
Raised within the traditions of Clan Askani, Vega received an unconventional education in the Force that emphasized mental discipline, memory sharing, heightened perception, and the specialized pathfinding arts practiced by Askani Travelers (Usually working as a team). These teachings were supplemented by more conventional applications of the Force and martial training, producing a versatile but highly specialized skill set. Though such disciplines are practiced among the Askani, not all possess an affinity for the mental arts, nor are all capable of becoming Travelers. Vega demonstrated an aptitude for both, though the more advanced techniques of her training remain skills still being refined.

Lightsaber
The upper grip transitioned into exposed, concentrically machined sections of darkened metal before terminating in a layered emitter assembly. Raised rings surrounded the emitter neck, while an asymmetrical shroud partially enclosed the blade aperture. When activated, the weapon produced a yellow blade. Its exterior bore visible scratches, discoloration, and wear rather than ornamental detailing, giving the lightsaber the appearance of a weapon intended to survive prolonged use in the field.
Traveler's Bodysuit
Vega's field attire consisted of a fitted, armored bodysuit designed for mobility and extended travel rather than conventional Jedi robes. The suit was primarily constructed from dark olive green material, reinforced across the torso by segmented copper colored armor panels arranged in an angular pattern over the chest and abdomen. Additional muted bronze and brown reinforcement followed the waist and hips, giving the garment a layered construction without substantially restricting movement.Protection was deliberately asymmetrical. Vega wore a weathered metal pauldron over one shoulder, accompanied by a reinforced sleeve and forearm guard on the same arm, while the opposite arm remained largely exposed apart from a bracer and upper arm band. Fingerless gloves, armored knee plates, and additional lower leg wrappings completed the ensemble. A high collar and loosely wrapped taupe travel scarf protected her neck and lower face when necessary, while a long, weathered mantle fell from the shoulders and could serve as limited protection against dust, wind, and harsh environments.
Vega belongs to a lineage whose recorded origins stretch back to the High Republic and Jedi Master Avar Kriss, whose descendants would eventually form the House of Jade. Generations later came Loudomi Jade and her daughter, Romi Jade—better known to Vega's people as Mother Askani—whose marriage to Johannes Inkari continued the line through their daughter, Cortana Jade-Inkari. Across the centuries that followed, their descendants became intertwined with the emerging Clan Askani, culminating generations later in Vega's birth in 1045 ABY.
