  • Description: At a glance, they are the legendary stories of horror literature. Tall, fearsome looking abominations, whose gaze could turn blood cold. Some that have encountered them, and survived, reference them as demons, succubus, monsters from lingering nightmares. Thier appearance and their views on outsiders lends the tales spoken of them with great accuracy. Eyes, born of gene splicing, can haunt the very soul of an individual, razor-like claws that can shred through flesh, and a gaunt physique that masks the true strength of the Vathanit.

  1. Felacat DNA (from Mikilanna Mihaly): From the genetic code of a Felacat, in this instance Mikilanna Mihaly, the species has adopted the traits of a tail, canine incisors, and sharp, retractable claws. The eyes are partially feline in nature.
  2. Krayt Dragon DNA: The DNA taken from the krayt dragon has lent the traits of curved horns, a strong bony cranial forehead, and hardened, dense bone. The shoulder blades have a bone-like protrusion to them. Partial reptilian-like eyes are present. The eyes of the reptile and the partial eyes of the feline give it an almost devilish pair.
  3. Umbaran DNA: Donated from the specimen's DNA, the traits inherited from the Umbaran are the achromatic sunken eyes, pale skin, and the gaunt physique.
  4. Male / Female: Vathanit were created with the sole purpose to be female exclusively. However, nature has elected to bless the species with the ability to undergo a transformation that changes an individual's gender, for the sole purpose of procreating. Once the act is complete, the newly formed 'male' dies.

Strengths:
  • Shifter: Per the DNA from Mikilanna (Felacat), the Vathanit have the ability to shift forms. The form they shift into is an abomination, as it's a mixture of a giant sized battlecat (Felacat DNA) and krayt dragon (DNA). The body is covered in fur, like a cat, but has plated, hard scales like spots. In this form, they possess the strength and power of the krayt dragon, and only the sharpened claws of the Felacat battlecat form. It is rumored that some of the species have different attributes in shifted form.
  • Strength: Regardless of what form they are in, the Vathanit have supernatural strength. They can lift nearly five-times their normal weight. Outside of lifting enormous, heavy objects; they can punch through most alloys, steels, rocks, and other materials with relative ease.
  • Triple Vision: Vathanit have three types of vision. They have normal vision like most species of the galaxy, seeing the basics of color and etc... Through the DNA splicing, they now have nightvision (felacat DNA) and ultraviolet vision (Umbaran DNA). They can switch between trio at will.
  • Enhanced Midi-chlorians: Each Vathanit possess an extremely high midi-chlorian count; enabling the entire species to be born Force sensitive. However, their talent in commanding the Force is on par with non-training. They can do the typical business-like enhanced speed and enhanced jumping ability for example. They have no knowledge of training their minds to actually use the Force in ways trained Force users can.
Weaknesses:
  • Sithspawn Genetics: The original batch of Vathanit were genetically created in a lab using a trio of genetic DNA. However, some of the science used in their creation comes from Sith science (magic). Each embryo in the beginning was tampered with by Darth Kauhu, thus creating a hybrid genetic Sihspawn. The entire race created, and those bred among themselves, are considered Sithspawn by definition. As Sithspawn, they suffer all the weaknesses associated with dealing with the light side of the Force.
  • Cold Sickness: The term Cold Sickness, dubbed by the scientists who first conducted the earliest experiments on the first batch, associates the species inability to survive in the cold. Temperatures of extreme measures will outright kill the individual. In order for an individual to survive in such a harsh climate, they would be required to wear environment suits. As such, Vathanit rarely leave off world, whilst remaining in hot, warm tropical regions of Felacat.
  • Aggressive Nature: It's assumed the aggressive behavior of the Vathanit comes from the DNA of the krayt dragon. It some instances, their aggressions can lead to a state-like berserker rage. Most times the aggression is triggered by the fight or flight response. When faced with danger, they opt for fight. Also, lengthy times between eating can disturb the balance inside, potentially setting them off into berserk mode.
  • Diet: Vathanit are strict carnivores. However, they can just eat meat in regular manners. They need to feast off freshly killed raw meat; eating the sections of the kill with the highest protein count, etc... livers, pancreas. They are not cannibals, but they will eat almost any mammal, reptile, bird, or fish. And they have such an extraordinary high metabolism, that eating is a constant aptitude.
  • Void Stones: Like all Force sensitives, the stones can dampen the Force inside them; but it goes further. With the species being a product of the dark side, when they come in contact with the stones. they are literally cut off from the Force; prolonged exposure will erase the Force completely.

  1. Tribal Life: Vathanit live in the warmest and hottest climates on the planet of Felacat; such as jungles, tropical rainforests. This region lends assistance to stave of the Cold Sickness that can eradicate them in an instant. With so much of those regions hard to explore or survive, Vathanit have opted set up temporary camps. Each camp is it's on unique tribe. Each individual tribe remains secluded from others; warring viciously with one another upon the trespassing of lands. Each tribe breeds amongst themselves, which tends to border on the fringes of incest. All tribes mark themselves with tribal ink markings, some tribes going as far as piercings and extreme body modifications.
  2. Hunters: Vathanit are excellent hunters, trackers, trappers, and scouts. They have mastered the art of ambush tactics. With such a high metabolism rate, the quest for supplemented food sources is a survival requirement. Most tribes have in their possession technology to assist in hunting, but not all tribes are fortunate. Outside their own primal instincts, Vathanit fashion weapons from materials found in the regions inhabited by them. Outside of using catches for food, they have learned how to fashion weapons and clothing (i.e., fur) as well.
  3. Nomadic: Spite the tribal lifestyle, Vathanit are nomadic. They understand the concept of over hunting regional areas, and every year or two they break down camp and move to locations flourishing with high concentrations of food sources. This allows for the previous regional area to re-sustain itself fauna wise. Vathanit tribes never return to a previous operated location until an estimated ten years.
  4. Social Interaction: Vathanit hate outsiders, plain and simple. It has never been recorded if a non-Vathanit trespasser has been eaten by any of the roaming tribes, though all Vathanit tribes have indoctrinated into their lives a 'kill on sight mentality' to any that is not a Vathanit. For these reasons alone, interactions with this species should be avoided at all costs. To one another, the tribes war frequently; however, there are attempts at diplomacy to prevent bloodshed. Thier numbers are low, but rising, and it would be beneficial to all the tribes to potentially find alternatives to hostilities.
  5. Mates: The reason for low numbers is the mating season. Vathanit are genetically engineered to be solely female, with only the scientists working on the project that created them to breed them seclusively. However, nature always finds a way. When mating season is drawing close, females can alter their sex organs (female to male) for breeding purposes. After which, the 'male' dies. It's hard to define how that effect occurred, but it is quite possible its a result from Sith Science (Magic). Their numbers, in the tropical regions, are showing signs of expanding. Still, there are Vathanit still being fabricated in the labs for different purposes.
  6. Rite of Passage: Vathanit have no concept of aging or galactic standard time, they count 'years' by the seasonal changes in the region. When a Vathanit reaches her twelfth season, she is equipped with a crude weapon such as a spear or some other makeshift weapon from the jungle areas and sent off for two weeks to survive off the land. Vathanit think they are the apex predator of Felacat, spite the technological and cultural advances of the Felacatians. There are very few natural predators on the planet, but the minds at Mihaly Castle are constantly creating new genetic species, releasing some into the planet's varying regions. One of their main adversaries, when stumbled upon, are The Mortem Magistri, powerful beasts created at The Royal Institute of Science and samples of the genetic DNA brought to Felacat; subsequently Mihaly Castle. Other Vathanit tribes is a viable problem and danger. The Rite of Passage ritual is simple: survive and return, or do not return at all.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Vathanit are not a natural species both in the galaxy or on the planet of Felacat, though the former has yet to experience Vathanit. This species is a product of genetic DNA splicing and Sith Science. Combined DNA samples were harvested by three separate hosts to lend the Vathanit its traits. At the onset of the experiments, several DNA was lost due to failures in the genetic coding. It took several months for the scientists to successful create the first Vathanit embryo. Before future embryos would be engineered, they needed to understand what they initially created. Before the embryo was to be studied, Darth Kauhu performed a dark side ritual on the embryo, causing it to further undergo changes. As the embryo began to grow, and it grew rather rapidly, did they truly understand what they officially created. With the first Vathanit quickly reaching teen years in matter of days; a side effect learned by the formula used to create the species. Somehow the krayt dragon DNA ratio was too high, and when mixed with other two ratios of DNA it caused the rapid growth. The next couple of months, the scientists and Darth Kauhu toyed with experimenting on the DNA, finally concocting the exact formula. By then, the original specimen had matured and died in captivity of 'old age' during that two-month span; estimated at two-hundred years old.

The next batch, a host of embryos where created; and with the new formula utilized the new group matured to teenage years, and then promptly began maturing at the traditional normal aging process. With several specimens on hand, varying operations on how to study them began. One thing that was collectively noticed was their aggression state. Mihaly Castle was not properly designed to hold such a numerous aggressive species; and subsequently the original batch was released into the hottest regions of Felacat. Even with the originals living unmolested by the galaxy, the scientists continued to fabricate more Vathanit embryos, releasing them in various regions of the planet. This release program was the cause of the tribal formations.

Without outside interference, and the releasing of newly created specimens into the planet's ecosystem, the Vathanit have been allowed to thrive and grow. But the creations of embryos never ceased, for each new embryo was carefully placed in a stasis state; for the exception of one.

Ladybug Ladybug Almost everything is good here, just two small thing:

  1. Per the rules for completely Force sensitive species, they are prohibited from active abilities such as telekinesis. The enhanced speed and jumping are fine. Would you mind removing the telekinesis portion?
  2. With those same rules, would you mind adding in a weakness that talks about Force Null fields like Void Stones or the ysalamiri?
