Description:

The crystal is a sentient one, left behind by Jal'shey long ago. Within is an ancient Jal'shey spirit who watches and maintains it. Vassara has charged the guardian with protecting her future saber against the use of anyone but her. While the crystal remains in the Saber, no on but Vassara may activate it or use the force upon it. This negates shatterpoints, and force manipulations of it.​

A weakness in return is that she must remain in the Light. Should she fall to the darkside the crystal will reject her, This will stop the blade from working and she will become defenceless. ​

​

The crystal still has another weakness. While the saber and the crystal itself cannot be manipulated by a force user other than her, a powerful blow to the hilt can still knock it out of alignment, causing the crystal to explode the saber, and her hand with it.​
