APPEARANCE:

Broad-shouldered and brawny, Varn stands at just under six feet in height. Light-skinned, bald, with a healthy physique and well-defined features, the Zabrak cuts quite the intimidating figure. Though unintended, the cranial horns and facial tattoos common amongst his species add to this effect. Yet, by no means do they reflect the true nature of the man sporting them. On the contrary, he often exudes an aura of serenity and tends to treat others with respect and honesty.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born on Iridonia, Varn was orphaned at a young age, and surrendered to the Jedi Order soon after. Too young to truly mourn the loss of his parents or his homeworld, the Zabrak was raised as many other Force-Sensitive children taken in by the Order were. As one of member of a clan of ten fellow initiates, Varn was brought up in the Jedi Academy located on the planet of Kashyyyk. It was there he began his basic training, studying the Force and the galaxy's long, illustrious history. It was also where he began his physical training, and learned of the Jedi Code as well as the Three Pillars-- the Force, Knowledge and Self-Discipline.

Over time, Varn grew to be a focused, driven student, well versed in the many forms of lightsaber combat, centered even in the heat of battle. When he was old enough --and deemed ready-- he underwent the Initiate's Trials, passing all three before being named Padawan. More time passed before he was finally granted the rank of Knight, and by then he was a man grown. As a Knight of the Jedi Order, most of his time from then on was spent keeping the peace and upholding justice across the galaxy. No easy feat, by any means.

It was during these years Varn built a name for himself as something of a duelist, mastering two of the seven forms of lightsaber combat. Though knowledgeable in the Force and its application, he was not all that powerful when it came down to it. Thus, his mastery of the saber- a means to counteract his limited use of the Force.

The path he walked was a dangerous one, fraught with peril. During a duel with a Sith warrior on a remote planet, the Zabrak suffered a wound to his left thigh, one that never healed properly. To this day, the wound persists in the form of a limp. It is a constant reminder that he is but a mortal man regardless of the power at his beck and call.
