Varek Fenn is a Togruta of one simple truth - "You're only as good as your next dish."
Treating life closer to how he treats his cooking is a testament to how unstoppable Varek Fenn truly is. Everything about him exudes confidence and intensity. Although many would consider him very in control there are moments of explosive anger when certain limits are reached. Many customers consider him intimadating, honest and dangerously focused. Those closer to him find him charismatic, but only in a way that seems to leave them unsure whether or not he's joking or threatening them at times. Usually, it's both.
Inside the cantina, Varek let's loose, often laughing and arguing whenever the need arises. When he knows a dish is perfect and the taste is there, he doesn't take well to critisim with the customers and tends to insult them out of disagreement. This can lead to heated confrontation and often results in the front end management to deal with it in a more respectful way. The locals always come back for the food, eventually.
For those wary travelers, that know nothing of the "Crimsion Chef" he can be very terrifying, but once the food hits their tongue...
Varek always wins.
Despite the rough edges, Varek uses cooking more than a means to survive and pay the bills. For him, it's a peaceful therapy. Just as he was disicplined in war tactics and combat efficency, he sees the discipline in crafting the perfect meal. The kitchen is his domain of complete control, every ingredient matters. Every cut matters. Every second matters. When he is actively cooking, parts of his past life almost manifest in a perfect dance of precise movements, clipped speech, and sharpened awareness.
Lastly, but certaintly not least is his relationship with food. Varek is of firm belief that food can reveal the truth about people. To him, cheap food is acceptable, but that doesn't mean lazy food will be tolerated. This philosophy developed over the years of having to survive ration packs and scraps during military campaigns. He despises waste, but at times sacrfices must be made, the same is true in war. To prevent such a tragic loss, he can turn scarps into masterpieces and takes serious pride in doing so.

- Famous Brown Apron: Many chefs go for white, black and sometimes blue aprons. It is a very rare oddity to see a chef in a dull color when so much creativity is coming out of the kitchen. For Varek, the food should always be the main show, nothing else. The apron is equipped with many pockets and tiny loopholes for spice vials, utensils and other kitchen tools that Varek likes to have on hand.
