- Practically Indestructible: Treated with alchemy, the locket itself is nearly impervious to damage. Concentrated efforts of force light, a very long sustained period of contact with a lightsaber, or some kind of capital ship weaponry are necessary to break through the material.
- Beacon: The locket acts as a blood trail for Quinn to be found by Vesta, no matter where they are, and also amplifies their bond through the force to permit Quinn to send powerful emotions to Vesta - such as feelings of fear, panic, or other emotions which might be necessary to indicate to the Sith Lord that their apprentice might need them.
- Lost and Found: The locket is marked with Vesta's own blood and can be traced anywhere by the Sith Lord.
- Alarm: Quinn may channel emotions they feel strongly through the locket to their master, hypothetically alerting them to her status.
- Tough: The locket was designed to last, and would require significant efforts in the force, particularly with force light, or impressive amounts of dedication with powerful weaponry to destroy it.
- Ysalamir: As these creatures render control over the force impossible within their sphere of influence, the tracing of the blood trail would run cold if the locket were to be held in one.
- Void Stone: While still traceable, the presence of void stones would make it difficult for Quinn to project her emotions through the locket via the force, and would make it more difficult for the blood trail to be followed accurately the longer it was held in the presence of void stones.
After the difficult circumstances in which Vesta Zambrano and Quinn Varanin came to meet, and the intense relationship that ensued, a promise was made by the Shi'ido Sith Lord to always keep Quinn safe. While confident in their abilities as an adequate protector, to rely solely on Vesta's physical presence as a means of protection would have been rather impractical, this locket was created as a failsafe in the instance that the Sith Lord was somehow unable to be there to keep Quinn safe, or otherwise was unable to do so.
The locket itself is of simple make, with a single chain attached to an aurodium locket with a picture of the two kissing set beneath a layer of transparisteel. The entire locket with the exception of the photograph have been treated with some manner of alchemy to alter their molecular structure in order to greatly enhance their durability. Underneath the picture, inside of the locket, is a sith rune which allows Quinn, and only Quinn, to broadcast her emotions at her will to Vesta, in essence acting like a physical manifestation of a force bond. The locket, chain and all, have also been marked by a bloodtrail, ensuring that little can keep the two apart if Vesta were to try to track her down. Provided she continues to wear it the entire time, though the unassuming appearance and lack of function besides as an accessory might lend to any would-be captors from removing it through suspicion.
