It’s a cruel galaxy out there…
And life had thrust Vara into the thick of it, from the day she could walk and talk. Born in the backwater gutter of Mon Gazza in the Mid Rim, she was not spared from the unforgiving, choking clutches of poverty; The air, noxious and stale, and the future as bleak as the urban decay of the capital, Miner’s Town, the right to life was decided by grit, endurance and labor.
As such, a formal education was forced to take a backseat; The Third-born was held to the same expectations her siblings -Korr, Nysa, and Jek- were withheld to, by Sera and Rask Vasha, their dear mother and father.
She was to pull her weight, just like the rest of them. One way or the other. Earn her keep, and benefit the family.
Her childhood swept past her in a dash as the years passed in between labor; devoid of shape, of color. It was hard to remember; days felt the same. The air as poisonous and bleak as ever. Faces and voices blurred together, like a memory cast aside and locked away to never see the light of day. Though as harsh as life was for them, despite how asphyxiating it felt to breathe at times, the love of family was not forsaken from them, no matter the strain and stress, their familial bonds proved strong.
But the harsh lessons, and the toll of it all? Never forgotten, nor could be hidden; neither her rage and rebellion, her desires never agreeing with that of his family. Always dreaming of a future, she refused to lose hope and find herself forced to think of what they might eat for dinner that night for the rest of her life.
And eventually, she took her leave in the wake of a particularly nasty fight. Barely any creds to her name, she fit all her belongings to a weathered old duffel bag and went, in search of a future, wherever that could lead her, for there was none to hold onto where she was.

Rough-humored, sharp-tongued, confrontational, and restless, Vara Rasha is a woman shaped by back-breaking labor, scarcity, and streets that punished hesitation and a lack of wits. She is a survivor first and foremost — a fighter driven by ambition and a stubborn need to carve out a future for herself by any means necessary.
Independent to a fault, she does not ask for help easily, seeing it as an admission of defeat even when it comes at her own expense. Friends are pushed away with the back of her hand, bridges burnt, hearts left broken, retorts and riposts that cannot be unspoken. The guilt of it lingers, heavy and difficult to bear. Her vices a refuge and ritual alike — a way to dull the edge, to forget when memories press down too hard to endure sober.
And yet, underneath the rough exterior, the abrasive humor and a brawler’s temper, lies a fiercely loyal heart. Vara is deeply protective of those she chooses, and despite everything that has driven her apart from others, she is incapable of fully severing the bonds she forms — least of all the ones she still carries within her heart.

PROS:
- Shistavanen: Due to her Shistavanen heritage, Vara benefits from enhanced physical traits, such as sharpened claws and teeth for battle, heightened olfactory senses and improved eyesight in the dark.
- Handywoman: Vara’s life born into labor prepared her for her journey in many ways; if it's got an engine, she can get it running again. If it’s got electrical components, a screen, a printed circuit board, she can fix it.
- Streetsmart: Raw strength and endurance to boot can only get you so far in The Streets. Even more so in environments like Mon Gazza. Vara’s rough upbringing equipped her with everything she’d need to survive and operate in the most dangerous urban settings the galaxy has to offer.
- Quick Learner: Sometimes, a craftsman demonstrates a skill or a technique to their apprentice only once, and expects them to perform a perfect imitation of it. Punishment was due, if failure was presented instead. Vara had no such luxury to afford. As such, she quickly became adept at soaking up information she deemed useful.
- Resilience: Hardship is an old friend of hers. Enduring it, and eventually fighting it, was amongst the first things she had to learn early on. As such, Vara’s upbringing and environment that has seen many left broken and undone, molded her into a hardy woman.
CONS:
- Addict: It’s not uncommon to pick up harmful habits for a woman of her background. Although everyone’s got their vices, she has quite the few. In more ways than one, it plagues her.
- Criminal Conduct: She is no stranger to making a living off what one would define as illegal activity. Her rapsheet grows by the day. She is likely to attract unwanted attention from the Law, wherever she goes. Justice is slow but sure.
- Uneducated: Vara’s efforts of self-education are nothing short of commendable, but unfortunately not enough. Her level of knowledge is just short of a highschooler, at best.
- Loudmouth: Never shy of a confrontation, or from speaking her mind without mincing words, she can’t keep her maw shut at times. This inability has seen her get into trouble, and cost her, many times; on none of the aftermath of these occasions, has she stopped and considered maybe she should restrain this obstinate nature of hers.
