SPECIAL FEATURES

• Intense Blade: Vanquish has a modular blade intensity setting, allowing its cutting power to be adjusted from simple training saber, to intense enough to rend and melt through Mandalorian Iron and Phrik, and several other Lightsaber Resistant materials with relative ease.
• Force-Imbued Blade: With some concentration and a little effort, Laira can channel her Force potential through the weapon so that it’s blade is able to harm spirits, demons, and other Force related apparitions.
• Non-Dimetris Circuitry: Constructed without the normal Dimetris circuitry, the weapon’s electromagnetic sheath that contains the plasma, is not shorted out by Cortosis like normal Lightsabers would be.

Strengths:

• Cutting Power: The blade, at its highest intensity, is capable of slashing through Beskar, Phrik, and several other Lightsaber Resistant materials with relative ease, making it easier to overload power-glands found in Yuuzhan Vong biots, and allowing it to cut through normal materials significantly faster than standard lightsabers.

Weaknesses:

• Active Imbuement: The weapon requires Laira to focus on channeling her presence through the crystal in order to imbue the blade in order to damage Dark Side spirits and demons.
• Blade Instability: At it’s highest blade intensity, Vanquish emits an unstable blue-white blade that crackles with energy and sparks along the blade, and is much more prone to shorting out.

DESCRIPTION
Vanquish, the Lightsaber constructed by Laira Darkhold for her use throughout the War with the imperials. The hilt is made of finely crafted silver-polished Mythra with a few brass secondaries such as the activation stud and connection to the ring that allows it to be held on a belt, and a black rubber grip at the base of the weapon. The internal mechanisms within the weapon have been constructed of high grade metals, containing the primary Krayt Dragon Pearl which acts as the main focusing crystal and the hurrikaine crystal lens.

The blade is projected through a refined and polished blue-white Krayt Dragon pearl, giving the energy blade a shining azure edge and bright white central core. Like many Lightsabers it features a dual phase setting allowing the blade to adjust from a standard long sword style to a shortened shoto with a simple twist of the handle; a bifurcating cyclical ignition pulse to allow the weapon to function underwater; faraday caging around its electronics to provide limited resistance to Ionic interference; an adjustable power output, adjustable blade length settings, and a biometric pressure grip tuned to Laira’s genetic signature as standard modifications made from the baseline Lightsaber design.

What makes Vanquish special is not its appearance but its function. Lightsaber wielding warriors in the modern age have found themselves encountering opposition utilizing powerful materials such as beskar, phrik, ultrachrome, and yuuzhan vong biots which limit a Lightsaber’s offensive capabilities in vast quantities. To compensate for this Laira included a secondary powercell situated below the primary diatium powercell in the handle containing a tiny amount of Isotope-5 to provide the energy necessary to sustain such a blade for any amount of time. Based off information detailing Exar Kun’s lightsaber and the modern weapons based off its original design, Laira built her lightsaber in order to vastly increase the cutting power of the blade at the cost of destabilizing it.

While at maximum setting, Vanquish has been known to cleave beskar, phrik, and other normally Lightsaber resistant materials with much greater ease, such as slicing through beskads and electrostaves with relative ease, and overwhelming the power fieldshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Power_gland projected by vong biots which allows the Lightsaber to damage those lifeforms much easier. Ultrachrome is somewhat more difficult given its ability to disperse heat across its whole facing, but is still cut much easier than with other lightsabers. Items treated with significant applications of Sith Alchemy are normally too much for this blade to cut or sever, however some of the simplistic applications which provide only the basest forms of lightsaber resistance and increased durability can still be cut.

While the power is set to its maximum potential the blade becomes unstable, making it prone to shorting out due to electrical surges and ionic interference. Additionally the unstable blade wavers with energy, crackling and surging with plasma making it look visibly different than in its normal setting. The power surges and arcs cause issues with the weapon, making it to where the Lightsaber doesn't function properly underwater, despite its bifurcating cyclical ignition and allowing it to be shorted out by Cortosis despite its construction without dimetris circuitry that would normally provide a resistance to the material's effect.

The crystals you have linked, as well as the Power adjustment, make no mention of being able to cut through Beskar, Phrik, or the like. Lightsaber resistant metals are lightsaber resistant for a reason. Half the time, they have various other weaknesses that you can expose from them.

Unless there is something else in this sub that would directly allow you to cut through Beskar, Phrik and the like, then I would like you either remove it, or change the wording of the submission to do simply "More damage" than a conventional lightsaber would.

The lightsaber can literally not be affected by any metal, can cut through anything with a simple flip of a switch. Even if you are using Isotope 5, It just means the blades plasma burns hotter when it makes contact. Isotope 5 is used to make more powerful weaponry yes. However, to outright go through the very thing that was made to withstand the weapons, is where I am drawing a line.

Damage is of course up to the receiver, however you should check my canon and primary source links. The sentinel, jaxtons retosaber, exar Kun's lightsaber, two chaos and one canon example all able to cut through beskar and phrik. I could find more chaos examples.

Jaxtons uses a large power box, the sentinel uses extra power cells, I use an iso-5 cell that destabilizes the blade. Plus, this is a resubmission of her old lightsaber which also cuts through lightsaber resistant mats already.

Jaxton's as well as Korr's Lightsabers were created in 2015 when the factory was much different then. Ijaat's lightsaber that you have linked cannot cut through beskar or phrik. It even states it cannot. While you can link Exar Kun's lightsaber, It is a unique Canon item. It is not the law, it is the exception to the law.

If you wish me to judge this lightsaber upon the standards back in 2015, then I could, however that is 1, Against the rules as a Factory Judge. 2, Each submission posted is to be taken on a case by case basis. Just because one was approved, does not mean that your will. Secondary to this, Both of the lightsabers that you linked that had the ability to cut through LSR Metals, had two or more development threads added to them. You have no kind of development like the ones you so brought forth. Secondly, the only balancing weaknesses you have for this lightsaber, is the instability of the blade, (which is mostly fluff and can be written off as a writer activated event.) and that you can sense the lightsaber in the force.

The other two lightsabers had weaknesses of being attached to a cord, or having a longer hilt so it was easier to hit. One even couldn't function under water. Jaxtons lightsaber had a massive power drain when it was cutting through LSR metals or materials. It was also made of beskar, so it was a rather heavy weapon compared to other sabers.

Please reduce the potential damage of this lightsaber.

This is a resubmission of her old lightsaber because my image links died. I do appreciate your input and do realize this is a powerful submission even if its not revolutionary. It is my understanding that the Factory currently does not deny submissions so long as they do not break Factory or Site rules, and will proceed with using this sub with the understanding that if abused and reported, it will be pulled out for judging at that time.

However, in my personal opinion, this does look overpowered. However, as long as those you write with don't have an issue with it, it's not an issue with us. Just know that this likely going to be more liable to being reported than most lightsaber subs.
