Affiliation: Property of the Vandermolen family. as the last known Vandermolen, the ownership falls to Leo Vandermolen
Description: Standing tall along a street of otherwise desolate mansions, Vandermolen Estate is extremely traditional in both outward and inside appearing. Incorporating a rustic approach in contrast with the very modern architecture of the rest of Coruscant. The mansion is in a current state of decay, however, with major work, it could be restored to its former glory. Some locations of interest include:
Entry Hall/Foyer: What was once the pique of grandeur is now desolate. Statuettes and trophies of past deeds once lined the walls of mahogany wood, visitors and friends would be taken-a-back at the first impression of the inside decor. The dilapidation has now overtaken the once proud entrance as refuse and litter now lay scattered across the floor, ruined tokens stand testament to what it had once been.
Common Room: The center of the mansion opens into a wide space, used primarily for small gatherings or parties. Broken furniture now crumple in piles, and old musical instruments sit in disrepair in a corner of the room. This room also contains a large skylight to allow for natural light to shine in, this skylight is now smashed and a large, open hole sits in its stead.
Bedrooms: The estate contains one large bedroom and three smaller guest rooms. The guest rooms and main bedroom all contain ensuites, however only the main bedroom links to the crafts room through a smaller door.
Crafts Room: A small area, once fitted to hone ones talent in crafting, sculpting, painting or any create drive they may have. Broken easels line the wall and dried paint, spattered on the ground and in their open cans lay at the feet of the tools.
Garden/Greenhouse: The rear side of the mansion is rife with overgrown weeds and unkempt plants. The dried husks of long-dead plants sit idly in their pots and weeds run rampart throughout the entire yard. The area also contains a crumbling stone fountain, the water no longer connected to its base, and a hedge maze, now complexly overgrown to the point where it is impossible to complete the maze with slashing the hedges or climbing over. A greenhouse sits attached to the back of the mansion, fairly intact. Inside are more dead flowers, herbs and other types of plants.
Underground Tunnels: Embedded under the house is an intricate system of underground tunnels. the ruination of the mansion has not affected the stability of the tunnels and they still function as an efficient and quick means of escape from the mansion if the need arises. There are three main hatch-entrances, hidden in the main bedroom, the crafts room and outside in the greenhouse. The entrances all connect with each other and lead out to an outcrop, half a kilometer away from the house.
History: Built four years before his birth, Leo very rarely visited the estate, his parents instead opting to raise him in the busy streets of Coruscant. On his very few visits as a child, he would play in the hedge maze and splash in the fountain. The estate itself was a construction ordered by his parents to build a 'home away from home,' however their many political dealings with their siblings, Leo's aunt and uncle, kept them from visiting the grounds more often.
After their disappearance, the mansion was all but forgotten. Leo could no longer visit due to the strict regime of his aunt and uncle who he had moved in with. The title deed had fallen to them as guardians to the next inheritor, however their political occupations also kept them from visiting. They would occasionally pay for regular maintenance on the estate, to keep the memory of Leo's parents alive, however, after their assassination, the Vandermolen Estate was abandoned, forgotten to the galaxy.
Now an adult, Leo received a message containing the title-deed for the destroyed estate. As the next Vandermolen in line, and the only Vandermolen accounted for, the inheritance had fallen upon Leo. The mansion was now his...
Intent: To provide Leo with a more permanent place of residence and create an explorable location for a thread. Note that I also intend to have this location repaired in the future to restore it to its former grandness.
