Image Source: Heavenly Swords Pirate Sword Product Picture
Intent: A personal Sith Sword for Darth Valtryx, mainly to encompass her desire for more elegance in her swordplay.
Development Thread: If Needed
Manufacturer: Darth Valtryx
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Valtryx herself
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material: Alchemised Desh-Terenthium Alloy (Blade), Durasteel (Hilt, Handguard and Metal on the scabbard), Corellian leather (Grip and Scabbard)
Classification: Sword
Size: One-handed
Blade Length: 64cm
Overall Length: 76cm
Weight: 1.36kg
Special Features:
  • Lightsaber resistant
  • Able to deflect blaster bolts
  • Slightly curved blade to accompany a more elegant combat style (Makashi)
  • Un-naturally sharp due to Alchemization.
Description: To accompany Valtryx's new body and combat style, she forged a new one-handed sword style for elegance and minimal weight. Although the alchemization into a Sith Sword increased it's weight, she managed to keep it down to 2.5kg, a reasonable weight to perform fast, Makashi-orientated moves atleast with the aid of the force. The alchemization of the blade means it is un-naturally sharp, giving extra cutting power over standard blades. The handguard is only for decoration and ease of hold, in reality it offers no protection. At the end of the day, it is just a regular Sith Sword styled in a more elegant way.

Just some points for clarification, other this is really well done and simple sub.

*Is the 1 meter overall length or blade length?? If it's blade length I would strongly suggest shortening it. For what you are wanting to accomplish in purpose and performance you are better off around 30"(76.2cm) with a 25"(63.5cm)blade, roughly, to fit a boarding cutlass style like that sword is in the picture. Though, to be fair, there is enough extant examples around this type that extending blade length to 28"(71.12cm) is not unheard of. However, 39" (as 1 meter translates to roughly) is a lot less typical and is actually not that elegant or quick moving in that type. Just as a note, most handles are no more than 4"-5"(10.16-12.7cm) for a single handed sword.

*The weight is a bit overly heavy, especially for the length. Contrary to modern belief, most swords (of longsword length, so 40"/1.01 meters or so) were 3(1.36kg) lbs and change. 4.4 lbs (around what you put for weight) would be immensely heavy and cumbersome to the point of unusability in this form. I'd honestly suggest about 2.75-3.5 lbs(1.25kg-1.59kg). With it being the alchemized material it is, I'd say 3(1.36KG) lbs would be ideal.

*Just to confirm, the durasteel of the hilt and guard and such is non alchemized, plain durasteel? It reads that way but doesn't explicitly state.

*Force imbuement is usually a master level power, unless you're a specialist in it. And to be honest, on a sith sword it is redundant. The sub would likely be better off having it removed or altered to another property common to alchemy, since really it's not needed. I have a few suggestions that would fit your theme, but i'll leave it to you unless you'd like to hear them.

I was thinking overall length, as I took the measurement from the same site I got the picture from, which referred to overall length. I've split up Blade and Overall length into two separate things, and used your recommended numbers.

Changed to your recommendation.

Non alchemized.

I see, I'll remove it from the sub, but would like to hear your suggestions. :)

From what I gathered, it appears you wanted the force imbuement for the cutting power. Alchemy does allow for the ability to make a sword un-naturally sharp, which would not be quite the same, but would be in the same ballpark. [member="Darth Valtryx"]
