While the Justicar-class command carrier is certainly an imposing and powerful design, the rest of the Republic Navy must evolve to match the aesthetics and abilities of this vessel. Meet the Valiance-class Star Destroyer, the new baseline Republic destroyer-type battleship which is intended to be the spiritual successor to the ancient Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer with a more Republic design aesthetic. Current designs have been found to be lacking horrendously, and Kuat Drive Yards designed this in the time-honoured traditions of its greatest vessels. Many Republic ships were hilariously outgunned, and the Valiance is the new answer to that problem.

The Valiance-class is designed to be a ship of the line. Much as the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer of yore was originally intended, this ship alone comprises a fleet, able to stand against most modern warships one on one and fight them to a standstill. While not a dedicated carrier design (the Republic always has other carrier designs to back it up in extended engagements), it is certainly capable of holding its own, with armaments comparable to the Sith Empire's Pellaeon II-class Star Destroyer. This design features less advanced technology than the Pellaeon II in order to facilitate good hangar space and faster production times, giving the Republic the ability to build more of these vessels cheaper than one would ever see the Sith Empire producing the Pellaeon II. Unlike the ancient Imperial designs, this vessel contains little to no ground support ability, designed almost purely for space superiority rather than total system dominance.

If ever the Republic has produced a modern Star Destroyer to be found at the forefront of every naval engagement, this is it - the Valiance makes up for almost every shortcoming the modern Republic Navy has found in its many engagements.
