- This gown is made with simmersilk, an alchemized fabric which is designed to protect against harmful UV radiation (and blaster bolts).
- Shell spider silk is resistant to vibroblades and low-powered energy weapons such as blaster pistols.
- Blasterproof: As clothing goes, this gown is exceptionally durable against blaster fire in particular, able to withstand even direct hits. It is not indestructible, however - one's best bet for survival if somebody starts shooting is still to run for cover.
- Sleeps With Vibroblades: The gown also boasts some defense against kinetic blows from weapons such as vibroblades, albeit to a lesser extent than energy. It could probably withstand a glancing blow, but a direct hit would be pushing it.
- Sunscreen: The fabric is designed to shield against UV radiation. Hey, at least Val won't be getting sunburned while she's wearing it.
- Waterproof: The fabric has been treated so that it will not retain water (and become heavy) when submerged.
- Pockets: It has pockets on the sides.
- Disruptors: Even a glancing hit from a disruptor will cause the gown to disintegrate.
- Lightsabers: The gown has no real durability against lightsabers.
- Force Nullify: Exposure to Force-nullifying matter such as ysalamiri, void stones, and nullification resin disrupt the alchemization of the fabric, effectively making it little more than regular clothing.
Thelma was asked by Valery Noble to make a dress for her to wear during a visit to her homeworld, Keshi. Val's hometown is a little village nestled in a valley, full of grassy fields, wildflowers, and waterfalls. She wanted an outfit which would fit in with the landscape and general atmosphere of the place.
During her search for fabric, Thelma stumbled across a bolt of simmersilk cloth. Sensing that there was something different about it, she decided to use it in the making of the dress. She also managed to secure some shell spider silk for added protection - not that she expected Val would come under attack during her trip, but it never hurts to come prepared.
The embroidered green dress is tea-length, with an narrow V-shaped neckline, a cinched waist with boning, and puffy sleeves. It is comfortable to wear, breathable, and has side pockets.
