Valerian is an idealistic warrior raised by a retainer of the Imperial Knights and then sent to the Knight Schools of Zakuul to become a Zakuulan Knight. He was trained and drilled since he could walk, showing an exceptional skill with the lightsaber as well as augmenting his body through the Force. He was appreciated among his peers for his wit and friendly demeanor but also respected for a strong determination and focus to excel. He received his name from what would be publicly proclaimed to be his father, acknowledged by Aurelian Sigismund himself. Even though the circumstances of his birth and the person of his mother are unknown. Yet he clearly is himself and not a son, known to only taking what is necessary and practical.
Now Valerian seeks to make a name for himself, to find his purpose and see the Galaxy while serving the greater good he perceives to be justice. He has a great interest in meeting and learning from the Mandalorians, to understand their close bonds of family and their martial culture. While he was raised by Knights, he aspires to be what that means, to find and seek what the current universe would see as chivalrous while order is at stake and darkness and corruption spreading like wildfires.
So far his skills and ideals were tested by battling hostile imperial looters and pirates, former imperials who have forsaken their banner to embrace anarchy. Valerian and his companions are quite set on bringing these traitors and marauders to swift justice, hunting them in the entirety of former Imperial space and beyond.
