Val Shyra was born in the middle of...Nowhere. Nowhere was a rather small settlement, made by those who wished to disappear from the prying galaxy. There were no maps to get to the settlement, no records of its existence, or anyone who cold say they had been there. So when Val's parents stumbled upon the settlement, and Val was quite literally born in the middle of Nowhere, the family decided to stick around. There was quite a bit of grumbling at this, but rumors around the settlement said that Val's father silenced them all with a single, icy glare. Growing up, Val had even believed the rumors. But like all things, his childhood innocence had to come to an end eventually.
When Val was nineteen, his parents got sick. In Nowhere, the only doctor had been his own mother, and as they grew sicker and sicker, no one was able to help. The friends Val had made growing up began to drift away from him as he grew more irritable at his parents situation, and in time the Shyra family was isolated in Nowhere. When his parents were too sick to move, they gave Val the key to a locked chest buried underneath their house. Within, he found out the truth. His parents had been Mandalorians, warriors who followed the ancient tenants of the Resol'nare, and had even fought on Mandalore itself during the Sith Empires invasion. They had fled after their peoples defeat, giving up the ways of the Mandalorians in hopes of escaping and giving their yet to be born son a chance at a life.
When his parents passed, Val buried them where their armor had been stored away. When he finally emerged from his families home, nearly three weeks since he had last left it, he wore the armor of his parents, combined together into a single suit. Turning his back on his home and his former friends, Val set out into the galaxy, determined to make a name for himself, and erase the shame his parents actions have placed on their families name.
