Highly regulated and aristocratic, the Society of Val Reskiea would better be suited for the Core Worlds of the Galaxy and appears greatly out of place in Wild Space. An individual known as 'The Divine Empress' serves in capacity as both the Empress and the de facto head of the Church. Thus social movement is difficult to achieve, as many whom are born in the lower classes are incapable of advancing their place or station on Val Reskiea. Many of those in the Aristocracy (specifically third or fourth heirs) often abandon their titles and join the Order of the Righteous Flame out of a sense of honor and pride; with some doing so just to bring prestige to their family line and to prove themselves to the Galaxy at large.

Where many worlds export their art depicting serene settings and venues, with artist focused upon surrealism, cubism, expressionism, or a great deal of other styles; the art that flows out of Val Reskiea is heavily influenced by the Church and the Order of the Righteous Flame. Religious paintings and sculptures are the most common items exported from the world. Another venues that the native Vallians consider 'Art' is that of Wine making. They see their wines as rivaling those from the Core Worlds, or even being greater than those consumed in the more 'civilized' places of the Galaxy. Wine making is considered such an Art, that one must apprentice under a Master for upwards of twenty-five standard years before even being considered competent in just tending to the vines.

Val Reskiea is in the simplest of terms an Imperial Theocracy. Its Politics are shaped by the Church, with the Government and Religion seeming to meld and flow into one another. Much of the Policies enacted by the Church is done so in the name of their Religion and belief in the Maker. Laws, decrees and other such aspects of life are regulated and controlled by this form of reaching Government, though for the most part they often keep out of the personal affairs of citizens provided they adhere to the laws and religious practices of the Church. In this way, the Divine Empress (the de facto head of the Church), also serves as the Empress of Val Reskiea and its Imperial holdings across the Val Cluster.

Once the planet of Val Reskiea had its own military force that amount to a simple defensive fleet and defensive ground forces, that were spread out across the Val Cluster to defend the Imperial holdings of the Val Reskiea Imperial Theocracy. This changed however with the arrival of the Order of the Righteous Flame. Much of the standing forces of Val Reskiea were folded into the Holy Order, bolstering their forces. Now, the Order of the Righteous Flame acts as the guardians of Val Reskiea, as well as projecting the power of the world to their neighboring systems.
While military service is not compulsory, many Vallian families (specifically the 'Old Blood' Aristocratic families) make it as such. Many second and third sons and daughters are known to serve in the Order of the Righteous Flame since its arrival. Likewise those that do serve often give up all that link them to their former lives beyond their names. However their service in the Order of the Righteous Flame ensures that all are treated equal in the ranks. The military (and by extension the Order) is a meritocracy in its formation.

The belief in a greater entity has run deep in the beliefs of the Native Vallians, and those beliefs were expanded upon and greatly influenced by the arrival of the Order of the Righteous Flame. While the structure of the Church didn't change, they finally had a name for their creator, 'The Maker'. The Religious beliefs of Val Reskiea permeate every aspect of life, so much so that the Divine Empress, the head of the Chuch also serves as the Empress. While the belief of the Maker is the primary and thus de facto religion of Val Reskiea, some minor religious beliefs also exist on the world and are for the most part respected and accepted (albeit those who believe in these other religions are often taxed higher than those that follow the Church).

Once, Tens of thousands of years ago, there was a time when the galaxy was nothing more than darkness. We all suffered in darkness and squandered what little time we had by scraping together a meager existence. Yet, there came a time when a heavenly song rung around across the empty void and all of creation was sung truly into existence. The Maker above brought his countenance upon us and gave us the very eternal flame that burns today.
Without knowing it, he gave us the greatest of missions; for the Galaxy was dark and bereft of the light of the Maker. We so young, yet we could see the countless stars above, for they were shown to us to provide us the greatest of tasks. It was our duty to bring enlightenment to the Galaxy, to banish the ignorance of the Maker and rise as the true Galactic Power. In this time the ancient Galactic Republic, those fledgling planetary governments that blinded their citizens to the truth of the maker are the usurpers of our destiny.
It was the rightful place of the Vallians to lead Humanity in a glorious mission to spread the word to all beings and for that we were feared. For that we were banished from our homeland; The Maker though was not done with us. For he brought upon us the great gift in that he guided us across the Galaxy to a new world, a world made for us in the image of his great gardens beyond. We had sat quite in our corner of space for the Galaxy was not ready to hear the word, and now the Maker calls for us to go forth and spread his greatness.
- Much of the History written by Mr. Lefevre (I shall refer to him as Mr. Lefevre from this point on as records can not confirm nor deny his series of titles), is done so in a more, 'Religious' light. Much of our History, while having its own Golden Ages, rises and falls; was no better nor worst than that of the Galactic Republic. Even his own claim that the Vallians (as we are now known) had been banished from Coruscant, or a place of 'Darkness' as he refers to it, can not be exactly verified or proven. Much of our own historical record is so mired in Myth and Legend, that even we can not truly make a definitive statement of our origins; thus the myriad of beliefs will persist for the current future. What few records we do have often contradict one another, with one pointing to our evolving on Val Reskiea, and others pointing to our arriving from so far off world. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal

There came as such a time that our ancestors were guided by the Maker as children were guided by parents. For it was the Maker's Will that we were to rise and to proclaim our greatness and dominance over the whole of creation. It was that the mighty Vallian forces would sweep across the Galaxy and spread his word...
- Unfortunately much of the record of Mr. Lefevre's writing on this part of Val Reskiea's history is wholly believed to be nothing more than a religious sermon. While much has been corrupted of this time, with many other history books calling up and even going so far as citing Mr. Lefevre as their source of information; such information is that of the realm of mythology and legend. What we do know of this time, at least in terms of factual truth, is that Val Reskiea went through a period of rapid rise. Economical boom and the rapid pacing of scientific discoveries saw the people first settling the orbiting moons, then soon settling their neighboring worlds. Even then it was not all peaceful, as while the Vallians were exploring and colonizing their own system, their homeworld Val Reskiea was still greatly divided between many Empires, Kingdoms, and Baronies vying for power and influence. Thus much of the history is riddled with mythical stories and larger than life legends. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal

Thus we come to the greatest point in Val Reskiea's history, that Era of Imperial Expansion, when we brought our culture and light to the dark corners of the Val Cluster. With the banners of the Eternal Fire and the songs of the Maker being sung out, our vast fleets reached the corners of the Val Cluster and planted our flag upon those worlds shrouded in ignorance. Our greatest leaders saw to it that all would flourish under the banner of the Divine Empress and the holy word of the eternal flame given to us by the Maker.
Those that resisted our enlightenment of their worlds in a misguided attempt to expel the eternal flame were quickly dealt with. A heavy hand of our Empress' forces striking them down for their hubris. It was ordained through the mandate of the Maker that Val Reskiea would enlighten its neighbors and thus spread the word of the Maker.
The cry of 'Deus Vult' or 'The Maker Wills It' sung out through all of our glorious forces. The shining armadas painted as such, emblazoned with the Eternal Fire. Our masses of forces marching across the worlds of the unbelievers and cleaning them of their filth...
- At this point in the text, Mr. Lefevre devolves into a spat of various, lets call them derogatory terms, describing those worlds subjugated by Val Reskiea. Likewise, this section shows the greatest amount of Historical Revisionism, in that historical facts and information from other worlds show that the religious beliefs of the Eternal Flame (which evolved into the current belief of the Holy Church of the Maker) was not widespread until one-thousand to two-thousand years after the Imperial Expansion into the Val Cluster. What we do know of this point in history, is that, even while their own nations were still warring with one another, Val Reskiea and its in system colonies and fortresses were capable of mustering an interstellar force. This force however was comprised of generational vessels and seed ships that struck out to claim the other worlds in the Val Cluster. A mission that they succeeded in. Historical records show that only a few of these seed vessels were destroyed upon landing on other worlds already inhabited by other native species; which were much later subjugated by Val Reskiea (roughly around the time that the Empire rose to power, Nineteen years before the Battle of Yavin). ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal
..:: Rise of her Holiness the Divine Ambrosine ::..

Her radiance was so great that it caused those before her to avert thy eyes or else be blinded. Her beauty such that only the Maker himself was able to look upon her and admire her. A voice so heavenly that it sung color into existence and the people saw for the first time the myriad of the rainbow in all its greatness. Her's was the glory brought to all of us and in her death we doomed ourselves. For whilst she truly was the greatest, given to us as a gift by the Maker, it is a gift that we destroyed. Chained to the Black Obelisk of Oracle along with her followers, we burned her and in so offended the Maker.
For those years that followed, our hubris in the destruction of the only being that the Maker cared for and loved above all of his creations, was the downfall of our greatest of Empires. The Eternal Flame given to us was withdrawn by the very hand that provided it to his creations. The Maker punished us for we refused to hear the words of the Divine Ambrosine. We heard her speak and we heard nothing more than hatred; ours for her.
Thus when the fire died and the ashes corrupted with the melted chains were all that remain of her, the Maker struck us down. Ambrosine was reborn in that moment and she in all her glory begged the Maker to forgive us for our transgressions; though we were still punished for our Empire fell and would remain in the dark until such a time as we were capable of proving that we were worth of He and Ambrosine.
- Were to begin with this section. Once more we need to make it clear that much of this author's writing is filled with both historical inaccuracies as well as religious fervor. While outside historical records tell of a different story (as well as a few from Val Reskiea); what remains has been heavily changed to fit into the narrative of the people of Val Reskiea having betrayed the Maker by refusing to hear the word of an individual they call Ambrosine. Outside records show that during this time, the planet of Val Reskiea and much of the Imperial holdings across the Val Cluster were falling to internal turmoil. This turmoil was further compounded upon by the appearance of an individual calling herself Ambrosine; whom in turn claimed she was sent by a singular deity above (the deity remaining unnamed until ages later). Her claim of a new religious belief caused even greater turmoil and as she and her followers were seen as a destabilizing factor, they were arrested and as per Imperial Law, executed. The events that followed after Ambrosine and her follower's deaths were purely coincidental as it was only one-hundred to two-hundred years after her death that the Imperial Holdings of Val Reskiea fell into a long and steady decline. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal
..:: The Hundred-Thousand Year Darkness ::..

It was our hubris, our ignorance and defiance in the face of the Maker that lead to our downfall; for after the death of Ambrosine, our great empire fell into darkness once more. Our holdings across the Val Cluster rebelled once they found out that we had killed Ambrosine and denied them the glory of seeing her blinding beauty. For a hundred-thousand years our Empire fell and Val Reskiea was claimed by darkness once more.
We squandered the gift given and thus we were made to crawl in the dirt and mud of ignorance once more. Our greatest of scientists were removed by the people for misguiding us away from the Maker. Our greatest minds knew of only one way to ensure that the Eternal Flame was brought back to us, and that was by proclaiming the greatness of the Maker which was done for a hundred-thousand years until our voice was so great that we called the Maker back and were forgiven.
- Once again we see Mr. Lefevre focused upon the religious aspects and overtones and ignore fact and truth for myth and legend. Likewise his declaration of 'The Hundred-Thousand Years of Darkness' shows his disregard and incapability of reasoning and reading of calendars and chronometers. Outside sources show that the fall of Val Reskiea (while long) lasted roughly a few thousand years, and not as claimed one-hundred thousand. This time in Val Reskiea's history is easily measured and is likely to have started roughly around the time of the Jedi Civil War (in 3,956 BBY) until about One-Thousand years before the Battle of Yavin. It was at the tail end of this that saw a second individual (whose name has been lost to time) that ultimately through a combination of Religion and Military Might, managed to unite Val Reskiea into a singular Planetary Government which would later take on the form of an Imperial Theocracy that persists to this day. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal
..:: Fall of the Republic / Rise of the Empire Era ::..

The Eternal Flame was granted to us once more by the Maker and our ignorance and darkness that hath blinded us was removed. We were given his holy mandate once more to rise and claim the Val Cluster under his banner. By his hand Val Reskiea rose once more and his greatness was proclaimed. Those ancient holdings of the Imperial Val Reskiea fell in line and were once more reclaimed by our fleets. Even those worlds that resisted us previously fell to our forces. The Vallians stood tall and proclaimed the greatness of the Maker.
Thus it was not enough for we needed to spread the word among all. Our ships pushed out from the edges of the Val Cluster and carried our song and Eternal Flame to those worlds shrouded in Darkness. Thus we first saw that evil that the Maker had warned us about, that evil that would attempt to sway us from the rightful path. Those that used what they called 'The Force', and who would take us from the Maker once more.
We refuted them, cast them down and proclaimed them pretenders to the Maker. For it was only the Maker whose greatness could be known and that it was this 'Force' that would be the downfall of all. Thus it was Force Users, those that cause conflict that we had to fight.
- Mr. Lefevre makes some odd claims in this section of his historical record; among them being that the Vallians (the people of Val Reskiea) knew of those sects that used the Force would cause conflict. Or that the Force itself was the greatest Evil that would lead others away from the Maker. For much of the history of Val Reskiea (which had been left out of many of the contemporary text) shows that the Vallian people had no true affinity for tapping into 'The Force', thus it was largely unknown to them. While still considered base line humans and no different than their cousins on Coruscant, Corellia, etc etc, they apparently did not produce individuals capable of using the Force and had no concept of it. Nor had the Jedi, Sith, or any other Force Using sect discovered or had been in contact with the Val Cluster until much later and even then they were often refused entry to the Val Cluster or contact with its people. Much like the Hapans, Val Reskiea and its Imperial holdings in the Val Cluster closed the borders and permitted very little contact with the outside Galaxy. Of course, it was also this time that the Val Reskiea was united in one-thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, and had only been an Imperial Theocracy for one-thousand years when the Clone Wars broke out. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal
..:: The Clone Wars ::..

History shall remember the Clone Wars as nothing more than a conflict of greed. The Separatist wanted more credits, resources, more power. In turn the Jedi Order wanted more, they would not be content until they held the noble Republic beneath their thumb and were the ultimate power in the Galaxy. It was the Clone Troopers, those valiant and heroic soldiers that gave themselves willingly to fight against the evils of corruption and greed. First they struck against the Separatist and fought them from planet to planet to bring back peace and stability to the Galaxy.
It was only Supreme Chancellor Palpatine that saw through the veiled ploy of the Jedi Order. In his infinite wisdom he ensured that the Clone Troopers could act against the Jedi Order. Thus it was by his hand that the greed of the treasonous Jedi Order was struck down and the Empire rose in its place. Those that spoke against this new peace and stability were quickly quashed and put into place.
During this conflict that spanned much of the Galaxy, our glorious Divine Empress understood the destructive nature of the conflict as well as the greed that was inherit by both sides. She could not in good conscious side with the Confederacy; an organization of alien scum that wanted nothing more than to strangle every last credit from hard working humans. Nor could she join with the Republic, that ailing and corrupt web of bureaucracy. Thus she did the most intelligence thing of all and bless be to the Divine Empress, for she sought to save the wonders of the galaxy.
Even during a time of conflict, the Vallians thought of peace and prosperity among all. Our might fleets flew a flag of neutrality and struck out into the galaxy on a good will mission. We carried multitudes of supplies to all worlds affected by the conflict and in return we sought a mutual trade that would benefit all. With the establishment of the Hanging Gardens of Chabriac, and the Lanrial Nature Preserve, our mighty fleet returned with such wonders as the Bafforr Trees of Ithor, and the mighty Whaladon of Dac.
Though while her Holiness the Divine Empress did not seek an open relationship with the Republic, she did not suffer the likes of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Many border skirmishes sparked, though no defining battle took place. For the most part our glorious fleets struck down the Confederacy vessels that had the hubris to even attempt to delve into our Imperial Holdings of the Val Cluster.
- What History remembers of the Clone Wars is seen through the lenses of the multitudes. Many saw it as the death knell of an ailing and failing Republic. Many saw it as the hope that the Systems could govern themselves and bring forth a new government to replace the Republic. Some saw it as a means to coexist, with the Republic and the Confederacy working together. Some would later find out the truth that it was all orchestrated by then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (later known to history as Darth Sidious). What History remembers however is that yes the Jedi Order fell to the Clone Troopers and the Republic was quickly replaced by the Empire, and for a time there was peace and stability (though peace to one individual is oppression to another). It is interesting to note that Mr. Lefevre does not cover the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the New Republic, or any event between the end of the Imperial Era and the beginning of the Gulag Plague Era. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal
- Post Script: An additional amendment is required for this section. Mr. Lefevre is showing his outspoken specieism in his reference to "alien scum", and history has noted that many of his works would be more suited and appropriate for the time of the Galactic Empire rather than our current advanced cultural and society of Val Reskiea. Likewise there is no other historical references to what he has claimed involving Skirmishes between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Imperial Fleet of Val Reskiea. What History we can refer to, shows that during the Clone Wars, the Val Cluster was largely left alone and no major battles or skirmishes took place. In reality, the Divine Empress at the time had struck a deal with both the Republic and Confederacy to keep the Val Cluster as neutral space and even act in some capacities as an arbiter between the two parties. This was also the most likely date as to the establishment of the Hanging Gardens of Chabriac and the Linrial Nature Preserve, two institutions founded for the preservation of non-native flora and fauna that were introduced to the Val Cluster by either Diplomatic Gift or as having been brought to the Val Cluster by the Humanitarian fleets or citizens of the Val Cluster. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal
..:: Imperial Period ::..

The Empire, though while Humanocentric (a belief that should be risen up to its proper place as the Maker intended) ultimately failed due to the alien species of the galaxy that hindered its capability. Along with this was the unneeded Senate, an ancient relic that the Emperor rightfully dealt with by removing it from existence so that the Empire could reign without the red tape of debate. Likewise it was the Emperor Palpatine who in his wisdom removed the old Jedi Order for their corruption and turned the ailing Republic into a proper Empire. With the Jedi Order gone, it meant that the Empire could finally bring peace to the galaxy.
Their glorious fleets and capable commanders are what the Imperial Theocracy of Val Reskiea should always strive for along with putting the Vallians and Humans first. Only then can the Maker truly bestow his greatness upon his children. For the Maker tests us and our greatest test is to ensure the destruction of those that would otherwise oppose the Maker and would see Humans as their slaves.
With the end of the Clone Wars and our great humanitarian fleets returning, the Divine Empress sought to extend an agreement to the Grand Galactic Empire that now brought peace and security to the Galaxy. The Val Cluster took on the role of client state, and was largely left alone in the grand politics of the Galactic Empire. We were considered a backwater Sector; though we still held the honor of housing a few Imperial Repair Yards and an Imperial Star Destroyer Fleet. Our worlds so grand in scale and beauty were the tales of many Imperial Officers that brought their families to live in the Val Cluster as they served here.
During the time of the Empire, the Divine Empress made inroads in strengthening our ties with that great Human Empire. Of course we could not stand idly by as those Rebel Scum worked to destroy that peace and stability that the Empire had brought to the Galaxy. The Val Cluster aided in providing raw materials and personnel to the Galactic Empire's glorious fleets and army for Peace was on the mind of the Vallians as well and we would stand by our Core Cousins.
- At this point the rather blatant speciesism and much of his praise for the Empire would otherwise denote that the reading of this text should be removed from any formal schooling. Mr. Lefevre is a noted Humanocentric, and thus much of his writing is often mired in both the Religious aspect and Humanocentrism. We are fortunate that this individual perished during the Gulag Plague and did not live during our time; nor teach during our time. Much of the views he voices about the Empire, Humanocentrism and Religion are purely his own views and opinions. During the Imperial Era, for the large majority of it, the Val Cluster remained closed. Though while permitting some contact with the Empire through ambassadors and intermediaries, there was no direct contact or relation between the Imperial Theocracy of Val Reskiea and the Galactic Empire. Nor were any such views common place in the Val Cluster that would place any species above another. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal
- An Additional Amendment. While Mr. Lefevre does speak highly of the Galactic Empire, many of his boasts can not be checked as true or as having even happened. For the most part what few records survive do show that the Val Cluster was an Imperial Client State and for the most part was left to our own devices. The only Imperial presences was that of a small fleet of Star Destroyers, no more than a dozen. Those captains often remained on their vessels, nor did they move their families to the Val Cluster. With the destruction of the Second Deathstar at Endor, those Star Destroyers left the system to meet up with other Imperial forces in the Core Worlds. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal

Much of the history that happened after the rise of the Empire is unknown, or lost to time and thus is difficult to relay. Of course there were those that claimed to be the rightful successors and in turn they permitted themselves to fall to the trappings of those that would seek to keep the Galaxy ignorant. Only the ancient Fel Empire appeared to have the people's interest at heart and even then that ancient empire fell to the Force Users that the Maker warned us about.
However we saw the true extend of the Maker's anger with us for we had once again fallen from the rightful path. No, it was not that the Maker was angry at us the Vallians; for many of us were spared. It was for the non-believers, those that hung to the Force and those that used the Force. A mighty being named Zero, acting on behalf of the maker unleashed a plague so great that even now it continues to return from time to time just to remind everyone that the Maker persists.
I feel the Maker's hand now, and thus I do not have much time left to pen these words. I have been infected and I know that the Maker has chosen me and I shall be with him soon.
- It's clear that Mr. Lefevre had been infected with the Virus, and as noted below, it is apparent that others picked up his monstrosity of 'History of Val Reskiea' and attempted to finish it. We though will not be going over much of their work and shall instead focus on what is known; that being simply put. A terrorist calling themselves Zero unleashed a biological weapon that destroyed life in the galaxy and only now are we coming to terms with that fact and finally rebuilding. ~ Dr. Leopold Vidal

At this point in the written text, various Historians added to the text as what remains of the historical record of the Gulag Era records the death of Mr. Lefevre early in the outbreak of the Gulag Plague. Any further entries into this historical text are purely done so on my part and from my sources collected. ~Leopold Vidal
While Val Reskiea was removed from the greater galaxy, nestled in the depths of Wild Space, it wasn't left untouched by the Gulag Plague. What history is recorded is once more studded with myth and legend. Many viewed the plague as being the sign that their creator deity was angry with them and was separating the evil from the good. Some viewed it as a punishment for the lack of faith that many Vallians had, specifically those that had begun to drift away from the church. Even more stories tell of those few that survived having been afflicted with the plague because they were touched by the Maker and protected.
As the plague subsided though, and life began to return to a relative normal and calm, the world began to rebuild. Faith as it appeared became more deeply ingrained in their society and was more wide spread than ever in the following the 400 year darkness; which for Val Reskiea appeared to have been relatively calm (though that could merely be an edit of history to hide the truth of those years). What is known, is that coming out of the 400 Year Darkness was a burning flame and marked the greatest advanced in both Religious Art and Technology, marking a truly 'Golden Age' for Val Reskiea.

Thus we reach the end of our history or what would be claimed as history. With the Netherworld Event striking all corners of the Galaxy. For many they saw it as a terror, though many here on Val Reskiea saw it as a vindication of their beliefs. Those that had found themselves in the Netherworld and returned relayed their deepest fear, that their creator deity had forsaken them (once more it would seem). Those that did not return were thought lost, and pious enough to have been saved from the Hell of the Netherworld by the hand of their deity.
Val Reskiea is still recovering from those effects felt by the Netherworld Event when another planetary event took place; the arrival of the Order of the Righteous Flame. Those that came gave the Vallians a name for their deity, 'The Maker', the one that crafted the Galaxy; and who had forsaken that very Galaxy for the corruption known as the Force. To the Holy Church of the Maker, they have accepted the Order of the Righteous Flame and now the two work as one as they bide their time and build up their forces for an Exalted March upon the Galaxy to spread the word of the Maker.

Intent:
For much of its inception, The Order of the Righteous Flame, has in a sense, been 'homeless'. While its predecessor groups have had their own centralized locations; with the Knights of Kal'Shebbol having Kal'Shebbol and their predecessor Templar Order having the White Spire on Feenix; the Order itself has been without a home. Val Reskiea is the answer to this problem, and is in its entirety, intended to provide that home to the Order and to those plans to expand upon and development of the Order as it continues its activity on the site.
While there are plenty of other locations; including previous planets that I've created, I do not feel that those are suited for the Order or the over all planning that is happening in regards to the Order and its future on Chaos. To this end, Val Reskiea remains intended to provide a sense of welcoming and proper place for the Order.
