STRENGTHS
- Hunter: The Vagrant Class has an extreme maximum speed capability, allowing the interceptor to chase down or intercept other craft.
- Huddled: The shielding of the Vagrant is not a perfect sphere around the craft, instead being fitted as closely to the hull shape as possible. This allows for shots that would miss the craft by a few feet to go past without draining the shield in an unnecessary protection.
- Turnabout: The Vagrant Class is too fast for its own good in a dogfight scenario, and is not able to use its maximum speed if it wants to be able to maneuver safely and effectively.
- Deflection: While form fitting, the shielding of the Vagrant Class is extremely limited to give more power to the engines, and a few direct hits will easily destroy the vessel.
With an escalation of conflict along their borders with the Sith Empire, the Mandalorian Union strategists decided they needed a fast reaction force to be able to protect the wide front that they had to protect. The Vagrant Class Interceptor is the first ship to be created to fill this tactical vision. With three overly large engines for its size, the Vagrant is able to be deployed at a moments notice to intercept and engage enemy trespassers, and either chase them away, destroy them outright, or hold the line long enough for more Union forces to respond.
