DESCRIPTION
Designed as a heavier duty droid to function in a variety of roles, the V-4-series utility droid is a beefier droid than it's closest comparison in the CST line, the original V-1 Series Astromech. Being larger than the astromech line, most versions of the V-4 have an upper sensor housing, mounted with a detailed scanner unit, and a high charge power pack that allows them to both run for much longer periods of time, and use tools that require greater energy intake. While the standard droid is capable of have tools and programming changed to fit the owners needs, they are most often seen operating as mechanic and engineering droids. That doesn't mean there aren't other variants though.

The V-4T is a specially designed model for Clan Tal. Fitted with a Tal made medisensor, medical tools, and sterilization equipment for both it's own medical tooled and the tools of organic doctors, this version of the utility droid is, in fact, a full medical droid. Being a more direct medical droid compared to the V-2 Series "Minimech" therapy version, the V-4T has a focus to things like delivering medicine and rendering medical aid. The V-4U was derived from the T model, though it was fitted with more standard gear.

The V-4F is a firefighting version of the droid, and takes the interesting step of removing both the scanner and power pack that set the droid apart. In their place, firefighting equipment was mounted, allowing the droid to battle blazes. It was also given added fire protection.

Finally, the V-4D was specialized as a data courier, with expanded encrypted storage, computer spikes, and it's upper scanner being fitted with a system that would allow it to track computer wiring.

Despite the design working as intended, the V-4 series isn't without its flaw. Similar to many Old Republic models, the utility droid is quite large, and takes up a good bit of space compared to more popular astromechs. Along with this it also can't interact with astromech slots. Along with this, like many other Concord Specialized Technologies droids, the V-4 is can be fairly independent for a droid, which could generally be seen as a weakness by those who aren't expecting it.
