The V-2 astromech, nicknamed the "Micromech," was an astromech designed in a joint project by Concord Specialized Technologies and Industrial Automation. Originally designed to service a new fighter that lacked room for either a full-sized or mid-sized mech, the V-2 was built to be compact. Only sitting at 0.68 m, making it slightly taller than a BB-unit, and uses large wheels to allow for movement over rough terrain. Being small, the tools for the droid were made interchangeable instead of attempting to fit them all into the tiny frame.
At some point during development, an engineer got the idea of making a therapy droid version of the small droid. This version generally lacks the tools of the main version, replacing them with therapeutic equipment. The droid's programming for independence actually helped some in this matter, and allowed a personality to develop quite easily.
