Approved NPC Uvek Tar

Status
Not open for further replies.
Name: Uvek Tar
Loyalties: Loyal only to his own interests, as well as to the biological sciences that are being study in Kad V Imperial Garrison Alpha
Role: Main Antagonist in an upcoming thread, before being enslaved to become Warlord Zambrano's personal doctor after being captured by Bleeding Sun Agent [member="Tyro'din"]
Development Threads: N/a
Age: 52
Species: Yuuzhan Vong
Force-Sensitive: Force-dead
Appearance: Left eye has been replaced with singular maa'its (shaper version of Mqaaq'it, that sees beyond visible light spectrum, and act as a microscope), with hands replaced with eight digit Shaper Hands,, and wears what appear to be several biological silks which mismatch over each other in the form of a coat. The body though appears to be gaunt, beaten, and slightly malnourished; it is very clear the old vong did not escape from the One Sith without his fair share of scars.
Personality: Meticulous and easily upset by little things, but otherwise he is fairly neutral towards most things despite his tendency to make sarcastic and verbally abusive comments.
Weapon of Choice: Biot implants, in addition to a biological blow dart that can carry and administer foreign toxins such as Synox through a syringe like needle.
Wealth: What is money? Uvek is quite poor, but he does well with what he has within the confines of the scientific community on Kad V, which values knowledge and useful skills over wealth.
Combat Function: Uvek is best in a supporting role when he finds himself unfortunately thrust into combat, standing from afar and using his blowdart when enemies are not expecting it, however he is quite weak up close and relies being consistently protected by various creatures that he has created to protect him. If found without his various creatures, and is made to fight on his own, he becomes a major liability to anyone that is tasked with his protection; that doesn't take into account his improbably high fleeing instinct.

Strengths:
  • Ranged
  • Very accurate and precise
  • Excellent at controlling beasts
  • As a surgeon and a shaper, is capable of field surgery and other medical procedures fairly quickly, both on others and himself.

Weaknesses:
  • Ranged only
  • Physically inept
  • Heavily relies on beast control
Skills: Blowdart Shooting, Surgery, Shaping, Beast Taming, Field medicine
Notable Possessions: Sets of medical tools, bio-blowdart, various vials of poisons and medicines, biots to control shaped creatures.

Other Notes:
Personal History

Uvek Tar was once a rather loyal Shaper Adept under the employment of the growing One Sith Empire, that had a strong reliance on the biological war machines that the Yuuzhan Vong presented to them. That had been a long time ago however. For the several years under the employment of the One Sith, the Yuuzhan Vong quietly and studiously did as he was told under the leadership of his Shaper Masters, but as the terms became longer and stranger and stranger creations were being produced by others of their race (those others being legions like the Yun'do underneath the "Vong King" @Reverence) being commissioned for non-vong by a non-vong became disturbing for Uvek Tar to comprehend. This was merely the beginning of his deserting.

Uvek Tar was rather timid however, and knew how to hide his own secrets. He kept hidden his growing resentment for the One Sith, as he learned more and more from his Shaping Masters.... until finally, on the year before the Netherworld Event, he had become a Master Shaper. Given great responsibility within the Yuuzhan Vong as one of their priests, Uvek Tar had to privately confront his inner demons that resented their servitude to what would surely have been considered walking heresy by the old orders of the Yuuzhan Vong. He could not understand how they could accept their position beneath them like this, when their race had held the entire galaxy by its throat.

Suffice to say he had greater aspiration than being a slave to the Sith, and so when all hell literally broke loose into the galaxy, the Master Shaper defected from the Empire and escaped... but just barely. Suffering terrible injuries to his legs (though not enough to be medically necessary to remove), the Yuuzhan Vong was able to escape into the abyss of space. Reading old records, there had been mention of an old planet that had become the refuge of scientists escaping both the Sith and Republic empire's respectively to gain independence or escape prosecution. So his biological escape vessel had brought him to Kad V, where he was met by a former Imperial Remnant task force that had been sent there to occupy the lush jungle world.

Soon after, he would find himself on the surface, studying and shaping the various wild creatures present on the planet, no longer confined to any order. Although he did not enjoy the compound he was in, he could at least tolerate it as a necessity given no other option but to accept the technological fortress for his own protection from the terrible beasts of Kad V.

Author's Note:

Credit should be partially awarded to [member="Cylus Jest"] for being so kind in granting me the bare bones of this particular NPC to get me started and return my muse for this plot line! :D

Also, it should be noted that I intend to make several submissions of shaped creatures under the service of this NPC (most likely variations of the Kadian Dalek Beasts, among other similar creatures)
