Us against the Galaxy [Ovmar]

Determination and a huge amount of bacta found Anaya back on her feet quickly enough, though it would always be too long in her eyes. She'd had time to think, to reassess the situation and not just her personal one, but that of the galaxy. What was her part in all this? What battle was she to fight in, if any? Were the One Sith right in their conquest of the Republic? Did the Republic need to be wiped out? Standing on a viewing platform that granted expansive views of the stars around them, she chewed the inside of her cheek deep in thought.

She knew that no matter what the sith did, the Republic would prevail. They might crumble for a short while, but they always managed to claw their way back into power against all the odds. The sith would always turn their fight inwards when they ran out enemies, such was their nature. This was why they always failed. No matter what the One Sith said, when they ran out of wars to fight, of people to convert, they would turn on each other.

Anaya would not, and could not serve another 'Dark Lord'. No matter how powerful so in order to survive, to keep her freedom she would have to fight for the opposing side. She blew a sigh out her nose and looked down at the datapad in her hand. She'd flicked through the messages already, business was calling her but she was almost reluctant to leave Jared behind.

One of the doctors told me Anaya was up and running again, figures that girl can’t stay in one place for a very long time before trying to spring away yet again. Almost impossible to keep her grounded, probably the reason why I was starting to lo-- like her. That and have you seen t-- anyway, heard she was where it had all started, balcony thingie.

So that’s where I found myself too, almost gravitating to her location. Didn’t quite know what to say at first, wasn’t awkward, just… what does a man say in a situation like this? We ain’t exactly… normal in any sense of the word, can’t just look it up in some book or holovid show either.

Gotta make it up while we go along I guess, which is what I did. Walking up and halting next to her, resting my elbows on the balustrade.

‘Anaya.’

Anaya looked up from her datapad and smiled, eyes drifting past him to the stars. For some time she said nothing, just enjoyed his company. She'd have to tell him what she was going to do, she could be off the radar for months and to not tell him and just disappear was cold, even for her. Sliding the datapad into her pocket she moved to lean next to him.

"I'm going to leave tomorrow. I have a lot of work to do."

She wasn't entirely sure how to approach the details of her work. As far as Jared was concerned, she ran a few bars and built some droids, she kept the darker dealings of her business under wraps. Did she trust him enough to expose the illegal side? No, not just yet. So she kept it simple. "I have to go off the radar for a while. I have an intelligence job to to that requires my personal attention."

Hadn’t really been expecting her to stick around for long, ain’t in our blood, knew this to be the truth from the moment I had met her. Still, something of concern blossomed up somewhere inside of me, something I shoved right back into its origin, ain’t the time to be sentimental about things.

I looked back at her and gave her a nod. As said, I understand, didn’t mean I had to like it, but we both knew where we stood.

‘I see. Dangerous?’

Depending on her answer, I might just suggest something. Ain’t sure about it yet, but a life line is never a bad thing in my opinion.

She smiled slightly. "Very. One might call it stupid."

Fingers drummed for a moment for a moment on the railings. "We stand a midst chaos, something I've always wanted, something i have driven towards and yet..." She shook her head "None of it is right. None if it is what I envisioned. Maybe i misunderstood my goal..."

She was simply speaking her thoughts aloud, not looking for a response. "I don't like being wrong. I don't like what I see. So i'm going to take steps to change it. You don't need to know what I'm doing. The less you know, the better. But I will be gone for some time."

Chaos was the tool, not the goal. That was a thing that I had found out a long time ago, domination, order, control… those were the things that had to be instilled upon the common man, but how? They love their freedom, revel in it without considering the consequences. So… you show him true freedom, show him anarchy, show him what happens to his dreams and hopes and desires when true Chaos reigns.

Then look how quickly he will put on that collar, ask you for it, beg you to protect him, no rid him against that little, holy term called Freedom.

‘Don’t need to know, true. Doesn’t mean I ain’t asking anyway, tell me. Don’t worry about me trying to hold ya back, I know what it means to have a… mission.

Anaya gave a derisive laugh. Hold her back, indeed. Even if he wanted to, there was no stopping Anaya. "I'm not concerned with you trying to hold me back, I'm concerned that you knowing will drag you necessarily into the fray."

There was an edge to her tone, something dangerous, something that said 'this is not up for discussion'. Resting her back against the railing she leaned towards him, a sweet smile on her lips. "You don't need to know, so you will not know."

I shrugged, I had come to know her pretty damn well over the years. Underneath that derogatory laugh she was afraid something would happen to me, because I wouldn’t be able to just let her go without trying to help her out. Wasn’t my style, but neither was needlessly forcing myself onto someone when it wasn’t appreciated.

‘Noted.’

Tone wasn’t cold, it was just an acceptation of a simple fact. Wasn’t necessary to make it more complicated than that.

‘I want to put a blood trail on you. If something does happen, it might come in handy.’

I answered her sweet smile with one of my own, she was a badass. But I wasn’t the meek, little boy she had once kicked around on Coruscant. A fact she often forgot it seems, in a world where Varanin had seemed impressed with my power and I had survived an encounter with Je’gan… well.

Wasn’t a Shorn, but I had joined the Major League Games on my own terms, just the way I liked it.

Anaya's smile dropped form her face and she regarded him with an annoyed look. A blood trail, while handy, could complicate things. What if they were fighting 'together' if he supported the One Sith again. He could blow her cover. She looked away from him, contemplating the suggestion carefully. Ovmar wasn't a fool, he wouldn't blow her cover, at least not intentionally...or so she hoped. she could get something from this.

"Alright, fine." she said finally looking back at him "On the condition that you teach me blood trail, and that if you do come across me when i'm undercover you do not react. In any way. You could seriously frak things up for me otherwise."

The sweet smile transitioned in the grin, as she inadvertently gave away part of her plan. So it was an undercover mission… hmm interesting. There were a couple of possibilities there, but only one location seemed to make any sense whatsoever. One Sith, they were stirring up all kinds of chaos all over the place, and yet… Anaya was a creature who loved her freedom, so the idea of submitting to a Dark Lord wouldn’t appeal to her.

They were seemingly poisoning her idea of true chaos, and as such she needed to learn more about them to… what? Destroy them from within? Possible. I wanted to tell her that it was folly, that there were other more pressing problems that should be occupying her mind. But there was a simple fact that restrained me. Freedom. The most important thing that a man or woman possessed and I would respect her freedom to pick her own path.

In the end she would realize her mistake, maybe. In the meanwhile, I would be there, making sure she didn’t frak up too badly.

‘Accepted with a stipulation. You teach me how to blink away your presence from the Force.’

That same roguish, annoying, beautiful grin was plastered onto my lips and I added a slight rise to my eyebrow. Daring her to miss out on this opportunity.

Anaya tried not to smile, she tried to keep her face stern, like this wasn't a game. She couldn't so she looked away and smirked. "I wonder, sometimes, if I should have killed you when I had the chance." she shook her head and looked back at him amusement glittering in her eyes.

"It is not a simple matter of blinking. Sith magic is not something to be taken lightly. With enough dedication and devotion to the art, one can become unstoppable." Something she did not have the time, nor the patience for.. "Beside which, for all we know, you may not be capable. There is a reason there are only a handful capable of it, it requires a dark core, an ability to plunge yourself so deep into the darkside that it consumes you."

She smirked. "I imagine though, that you will be fine."

In a lot of ways the art of Sith Magic was the epitome of the Dark side, through it you can manifest your own will upon the world and the very fabric of reality. Something that sounded pretty damn interesting right about now, but to be honest… I have never been too curious about this side of the spectrum, I mean. I ain’t kidding myself here, with the blood on my hands… with the things I have done? If people have a soul, mine would probably be blackened to a pitch, and I ain’t kidding about that. I have done pretty terrible stuff, but yeah you know how it goes. End justifies all means, and all that stuff.

But yeah, even I got a line, even if it’s fairly thin at this point. Sometimes you gotta break the stigma though, sometimes… a man needs to do whatever he needs to do. This was one of these times, I had to become stronger. Don’t get me wrong, I ain’t a low-weight, but playing in the major leagues has shown me that in that competition I ain’t pulling enough weight.

Didn’t doubt I had it in me to take on Sith Magic, I could feel it in my essence. The soft tingling, pulling and tugging towards Anaya and the blackness surrounding her. There was a different question though, would the cost be worth it? Didn’t doubt there was a sacrifice involved though, power always had those a plenty. Nothing comes free, you had to pay in one or more ways. But I would pay it, gladly to be able to protect he--- to amaze more power and through it gain dominion of course.

‘Corrupted to the core, Anaya. Only reason you still talk to me, I wager. Well that and our…. eh… sleeping sessions.’

So she wished to learn how to blood trail, wasn’t really sure if that was a good idea. Her being able to hunt any target she linked herself with her blood… well… it was an intimidating idea at the very least. But… did I really care? Not really. Knowledge wasn’t there to be restricted, it was there to be shared with those who were worthy of it. Hmm… I mean people would probably protest the fact that she was a worthy individual, but I always had a problem with resisting the wiles of the beautiful and lusty. Less so these days, but the echo kept on and on.

‘A blood trail is not a trivial matter, Fen. Got any idea already on how it works?’

It wasn’t as hardcore as Sith Magic, of course. But it required you to do a ritual which changes your blood to some degree, and from there on all your blood becomes trackable.

Anaya smirked. "And there was me thinking I was doing so well at keeping my intentions hidden." She leaned forward, her nose brushing his, kissing the corner of his mouth lightly. For a heartbeat, she wanted to delay their discussion, let her desires take over and take him there and then. By the Force he was intoxicating, it was like she'd found a new drug that she simply couldn't tear herself away from. She controlled herself though, moving back again as he asked about the blood trail.

Her hand moved to her stomach where Spencer's trail on her had left its scar. "I never expected it to be trivial, if it was trivial I would have learned it some time ago." she pursed her lips for a moment. "There is a change that occurs in the blood, that allows you to keep track of it." Her hand dropped from her stomach. "Spencer gave me one, makes it very difficult to sneak up on her." she grinned at him.

"Am I right?"

A week, a lot of bed play and the occasional training session later Fen and Ovmar had finally learned everything there was to learn about the ancient ritual of blood trailing and the Sith Lord even managed to zero out his Force Presence in the room. Which looking back at it, wasn’t that useful what with him having a new Epicanthix body.

They found themselves in bed after… doing nothing else but sleeping, because this was clearly a PG-13 board and nothing else happened than that. Yes. Sleeping. That’s why they were tired and every muscle ached pleasantly, because sleeping does that to a person. Sometimes.

‘And that… is how you do the Meereenese knot backwards. Anymore questions class?’

He spoke with a lazy grin plastered to his face, as he fell back onto the pillows and pulled Anaya into half of an embrace.

Anaya chuckled lightly and ran kisses up his chest before propping her self up to kiss him properly. "No, no questions, master." she purred at him before laying her head on his chest. A week of teaching, of learning, of...well..this. [member="Jared Ovmar"] had delayed her for too long. That should annoy her, but it didn't, and for one quiet, slightly insane moment, Anaya thought that she could be content if this was all life had left to offer her.

The moment passed, as quickly as it had come. "You're a distraction, Jared." she complained with a small smile. Eyes fluttered closed and she enjoyed the peace for a few minutes before slipping away from him and getting up.

"I shouldn't be here still." she said, hunting round for her clothes.

There was a certain pleasure in just watching a woman move around in a.. certain way, especially when they were athletic and just had that predatory grace. Rare these days, so Ovmar enjoyed it while it lasted, leaning against the bed frame with a lazy grin that people described as infuriatingly handsome.

It went on for a while, just listening to her talking about this and that. He was a distraction, truth to be told Ovmar had hoped that she would forget all about her plans and stay with him for a little while longer. He understood the need for… doing things and yet… what she was going to do was dangerous. Very dangerous, which she probably knew herself. She ain’t a twelve-year old, Ovmar. She knows what she is doing.

He couldn’t help but ignore his own brain and spoke up, in jest mostly but with just the right amount of sincerity. ‘Try not to waltz into the Dark Lord’s throneroom and lay down the law without any backup, alright?’

After that he flashed her a grin, another one and stayed quiet for a while. There was something else on his mind, truth to be told Ovmar too was getting anxious. But for a different reason, he should tell her. It was fair, especially after she told him of her departing plans too.

‘Things are moving quicker than I had anticipated, Anaya. Timescale is all off… I eh.. might fall off the grid when you leave, just.. so you know.’

Anaya shot him a look over her shoulder.

"I'm not that stupid. Only thing likely to drive me to that is s desperate situation." She pulled her shirt over her head "And the only thing likely to make me desperate..." she trailed off. It was far too early in whatever this was going to be, for her to express that. Anaya did have a heart, and she did care, despite what most people thought. there were only a handful of people in the galaxy that she cared about. "Never mind." she said brushing the matter aside.

Finishing dressing she moved to sit on the edge of the bed next to him. "I'd say, whatever you're doing don't get yourself killed, but seeing as you've already died once, I'm not overly concerned." She smirked. "Are you going to see me too my ship?"

Course I was gonna go and see the lady out, that was only natural and courteous of a guy. Disentangled myself from the bedding and diligently started searching for my own clothing amongst the rubble that once was the master bedroom of the illustrious Station. Sith Lords made such a mess of things during heated moments, which only made things more interesting if you asked me.

Movements were precise, to the level and had something… I’d like to think primal in them. Giving her exactly the right views when necessary, I was a bastard and I knew it, trying to seduce her back into bed even now with only my bare tush and equilavent parts.

‘Oh I am sure I will manage just fine, ‘specially with no Shorn killing babies around me. Whatever happened to Mikki anyway? Haven’t seen that guy around for ages.’

Anaya tensed slightly at the mention of Mikhail, it was a subtle change but one she knew he would be perceptive of. For a moment she silently cursed herself for letting him in.

"I don't know, nor do I care." That was perhaps a lie, Anaya did care, she always would care about the murderous scumbag who caused so much chaos. her mind flickered to times gone past and the shadow of a smile played on her lips. "I left him in the hands of an ancient healer. I imagine he's alive and biding his time." She looked at Jared then, eyes glittering with something dangerous.

"Don't provoke people unnecessarily. Its a something you have a knack for, it what gets you into situations like that with Mikhail."

Had I been Shorn, I probably would have pouted and waved my hair around in an emo way. Had I been Anaya, I might have thrown down right there and then. Had I been Vara-- well you catch my drift, I ain't any of those folk. I am my own man, always had been and always will be, started with appletini's and ended with me simply grinning at her silly jab.

'Noted.' then I gave her my own advice. 'Don't go sitting around in the Throne of the Dark Lord, hear he's pretty... possessive these days.'

All delivered with a twinkle in the eye, a faint smile on the lips and maybe just a tad tilt with the head.
