SPECIAL FEATURES

HUD linkup

Enviormental sealing

Walking Thermal Detonator (Eat your heart out, Leia)

Some glancing protection from blasters and lightsabers

Deadman Switch

Strengths:

+ Deadman Switch: Rigged to a pulse monitor, should the wearer’s heart stop, a timer will begin to count down two minutes. If the wearer is not resuscitated within that time, the explosive will detonate.

+ HUD uplink: Should the wearer decide they are not long for this world, they can activate the explosive via HUD, provided they have one linked to the Bodyglove.

+ Designed to be worn beneath Beskar’gam: This can easily be used in tandem with a suit of Mandalorian armor, making it a strong complement to the traditional garb of the culture.

Weaknesses:

- Very Little Defense on its own: As a Bodyglove, it runs low on the defensive end. It does provide environmental sealing for the wearer, and glancing protection from blaster bolts and lightsabers, but falls woefully short when faced with head on strikes.

- Electronic Failure: If something were to short out, the explosive device could potentially fail to activate.

- No “off” switch: once the wearer is suited up, the heart monitor instantly begins working. There is no option to go without, and the wearer assumes all risks inherent to using the Bodyglove.

- Extreme Conflagration: There will be nothing left of the wearer should the bomb detonate. Not only will the concussive force tear them apart, but the immense heat of the blast will incinerate them entirely. There is no hope of salvaging them, or their biomatter.

- Low Heart Rate: If the wearer enters a resting state where their heart race bottoms out, there is a chance that the heart monitoring system will falsely consider them to have flatlined. Examples of this include taking medications that slow the heartrate, being tranquilized, etc. This can cause the Deadman's switch to trigger.

- Leakage: If the plasteel compartment were somehow compromised, the highly toxic Baradium could potentially poison and kill Ursula via radiation, unless something far more dangerous occurred, first.

- Volatile: Alkor designed the compartment to stabilize the Baradium, but in the event it was compromised, the possibility of the element being mishandled increases exponentially. Should that occur, it would immediately detonate and vaporize everything within its radius.

DESCRIPTION

So taken with her blade was Ursula that she returned to Alkor with another request. Unfortunately, she found him much less receptive. When she described what she was looking for, initially his response was to flat out refuse. The lives of every single Mandalorian were something he cared for, and so the idea of strapping a bomb to one of them and sending them out into battle turned his stomach.

After he turned her away more than three times, he finally agreed to hear her out- on the condition that she allow him to integrate a failsafe that would give her the chance to live. She agreed, after he reasoned that she was far more good to the culture alive than dead.

So, he set to work on something that would not only serve the horrific purpose she intended, but also offer some measure of protection to help keep her alive as long as possible- his most paradoxical creation.

The suit features the commonplace Spacer's Leather and Armorweave utilized in generic Bodygloves, but also the components of the incredibly volatile and destructive Thermal Detonator. By placing them strategically within plasteel, Alkor was able to keep the poisonous element contained in such a way that it would not kill Ursula simply by way of exposure.

After that, it was simply a matter of sizing and fitting.

He gave her an extensive readout of the dangers inherent to her new suit, and cautioned her against taking it lightly.
