DESCRIPTION
The Ursa-Class Light Patrol Vehicle was a highly modular light troop transport utilized by the Mandalorian Empire after the Mandalorian Civil War. Without great need for tanks due to their bes'uliik, the Mandalorians instead utilized lighter repulsorlift vehicles such as the Ursa-class. Lightly armored and incredibly modular, the Ursa was able to react swiftly to threats and overrun enemy positions. Powerful forward facing heavy laser cannons plowed through infantry light armor and a modular turret mount added extensive versatility, vastly expanding the light tank's mission profile. Electrified harpoons, a beam cannon, heavy repeating blaster cannon, or a high powered floodlight could be equipped to the turreted mount with each fulfilling different purposes. The powerful beam cannon could cut through enemy fortifications with its concentrated stream of energy and proved effective in an anti-starfighter weapon against lightly armored and shielded fighters. A heavy repeating blaster cannon cut down infantry and other light armor or repulsorlift vehicles, which made it the more often used variant.

The harpoon and floodlight offered entirely different utilities, providing the Mandalorians with effective ways to find and capture enemies. The elctrified harpoon was able to pierce light and medium armor and send an electric shock through the target vehicle's systems and then reel in the deactivated prey. It could also be used to a rather cruel effect on people, shredding flesh and bone. The floodlight filled a simple and obvious purpose, to illuminate targets and environments. The small exposed trunk area of the Ursa-Class held four fordable jumper seats. Though uncomfortable, they provided adequate room for most species in the Mandalorian military or for prisoners. When not in use and folded up, the open air space could be used to carry a modest amount of supplies and ammunition.

While the Ursa-Class was an effective and versatile tool, its limitations would become very clear to the the Mandalorians, inspiring a new line of battle tanks. Despite its shortcomings though, the Ursa-Class would remain in regular use by the Mandalorians as its limitations did not preclude its speed and adaptability.
