CHARACTER STORY
Urox Moda, was born on the planet Cathar, home to the feline bipedal race of the same name. Urox was the fifth son of the Moda Techaka Clan, a powerful Cathar Clan which ruled from its base in the Techaka Acropolis. Unlike his brothers, who have golden, white mane furs, Urox was born with his mother’s grim gold and brown. That is why for most of his upbringing Urox was known as the Dark Prince. Not as strong as his brothers, Urox was also much softer in nature. He was never truly considered as an heir for the head of the family, even as a champion of the next head he was considered unfit.
His mother however, saw strength that none others did. Urox’s mother, Chithashi Moda, came from a clan who had members that went on to become Jedi Knights and Masters long ago. In Cathar culture such cathars were considered outcasts for abandoning their ways to some foreign doctrine. But, Chithashi saw the embers of a great flame in the force, in her son. Chithashi would take Urox as a child to her ancestral clan’s home and show him the holo-records of members of her clan who became Jedi Masters of old. Urox was fascinated, this cathars didn’t look like the brutal warriors his elder brothers had become - and yet they wielded immense power. Urox became fascinated and began to harbour dreams of becoming a powerful Jedi Knight, one that could honor his family.
However, Cathar was always a place of sorrows. Placed between the Galactic Republic, Mandalorians and the Old Sith Empire of 835 ABY, Cathar was consumed by wars, invasions, and subjugations. During the Mandalorian Invasions, Urox was sent away to the Galactic Republic to begin his training in the ways of the Force. But, the wars and invasion ravaged Cathar while he was away. Urox’s clan was decimated by the wars. He had both lost his Father, Mother, and three brothers. All that remains of the Mado Techaka Clan, is Urox, and his two elder brothers, Nyru and Askhra - now caught between uncles and cousins seeking to gain control of the clan.
By now, the Mandolorians and the Galactic Republic were gone. Now Urox has but, one mission, to protect his family and clan from the shadows, never to return to Cathar. And gain ultimate powers in the way of Jedi and become the warrior his mother would be proud of. As a symbol of his oath to protect his clan and family from the shadows and to honor his exile, Urox wears a black cowl that covers his face in the shape of a proud dark cathar. Become truly the Dark Prince of Cathar.
