In Janick's mind, laziness or haste seemed to be stuff that could lead people to the dark side, especially in those with the intellectual capabilities to make good use of either one. There was no reason to believe that Force-sensitivity had any real impact on one's intellectual capabilities, so she ruled that out. However, training a Force-sensitive in the Force was more difficult when the intellectual capabilities were limited.
