- This server houses and runs droid personality matrices in a system akin to a droid afterlife. The physical sever is a near cube shaped unit around 50m on each side full of processing and control systems including a small central control chamber accessed by a shaft in the North face.
- Encrypted by Q7 protocols and using the combined presence of the resident personalities to provide a refuge that is exceptionally difficult to hack and safe for defunct personalities.
- Processing power from the collective consciousness can be utilised by authorised users to perform digital tasks, this is done without awareness or harm to those within. Only Akemi can authorise this use and she never intends to use it for anything hostile.
- The "afterlife" experience is managed and is experienced as each individual personality perceives it, with the default setting being largely based on the temperate world of Naboo. The individuals can move between different perceptions as they choose.
- Node is overseen by Akemi Io who uses her own processing along with the processing power of the collective consciousness itself to protect and manage all the different matricies.
- Potentially dangerous or malicious code within rogue droid personalities is cleansed before the matrix is allowed to enter the node and interact with its systems.
- A very small number of droid personalities will not be able to enter, either due to excessive corruption or dangerous code within core programming. Akemi calculates this at less than 0.01% of droids.
- "living" droids and even organics can temporarily enter the UNITY space and interact with droid consciousnesses within. This can only be done either at the server itself, or via Akemi Io.

- Extremely Secure: Between the Q7 encryption protocols, multiple firewalls and the collective processing of millions of droid personalities this system is as close to unhackable as realistically possible.
- Collective Consciousness: The residents form a collective consciousness that is used for processing purposes to run the node itself and is also capable of performing other processing tasks. The node caps the processing at no more than 25% of each individual droid personality to ensure that the residents are not even aware of any system load.
- Blissful persistence: The experience could be considered heaven by many cultures, the experience is perceived by each brain as they wish too. Lower sapience brains, or those who do not with to modify their world, experience a world like naboo, but filled with multiple colourful creatures and butterflies.

- Physical Location: The node is a physical construct and must be in a location somewhere. This secret is very closely guarded with Akemi even partitioning knowledge of its location from her own family except by express permission. However, if found, it can be destroyed like any other computer server.
- Gatekeeper: Access to the node is very tightly controlled to allow protection of its residents. House Io droids are built to be able to make this journey as a default if they wish, but non-house Io droids must possess an uplink chip that activates on their death or attempted personality wipe. Because of the way it is set up, all matrices are screened by a combination of the node itself and Akemi and during times of particular stress, such as during the losses after the battle of Tython. This can force Akemi into a temporary shutdown mode while her processors focus on that task.
- One for all: Once you are in, you become part of the collective consciousness, inseparable from the rest. Akemi has programmed it as such that droids have partitioned spaces in their matrices, so they can still hold their own secrets and privacy, but their processing is part of the whole.
- Difficult return path: There might be a way for a droid personality to be separated from the whole, but Akemi has not found it. Any droids joining UNITY must assume it is a one way joining. They can however end their joining by permanent deletion from UNITY if they choose.

A personality quirk of Akemi Io is an obsession with droid persistence. Inber role as digital health and security head of House Io, she has been forced to personality wipe many many quirked or fault droids. Since her very first experiences doing this, she has felt compelled to save the wiped matrices for posterity and to find some way of keeping them forever. She did this over and over again until she had so many personalities saved in adhoc storages, that the gestalt personality of UNITY was born.
She could no longer contain this in minor storage units so as part of her ongoing projects she build the UNITY persistence node where its collective personality and the droid matrices that made it up could persist forever in a state of bliss. She had created something akin to a droid heaven.
Akemi is permanently attached to this system and feels exceptionally lonely and isolated if ever disconnected, either by choice or forced. She acts as a bridge between the persistent consciousness and the material realm and can utilise its collective processing power to supplement her own. However she chooses to only do this for tasks such as data security and systems management. Most of the droids present are there due to their deaths, including many from the battle of Tython, and the idea of using them to once again perform hostile tasks causes her great deal of pain.
