It had not been more than a few hours ago that Jennifer had played that damned game of Sabacc. And in reality, what had she expected? Just walk out of their with everything the poor man owned? She should have done her research really, not just be that impulsive, a foolish idea...

First mistake definitely appeared the moment she walked into the night club with the usual smirk on her face. I mean, even the most skilled people recognizer would not have expected that, that man, that Quarren covered in hood and mask, emitting a stence of garbage, would have been the owner of the place, well, not owner in the literal sense, but the owner sure paid him "protection money" or whatever they called it these days.. Perhaps everyone would have noticed, perhaps everyone, but Jennifer. One thing was certain, she shouldn't have cheated in that game.
She sighed, sitting in cover from the night in the downed spaceship she owned which were also used as her workshop. Perhaps she was making a fuss out of nothing, but a bounty was a bounty, no matter the size.. It was more about the concept of things than the credits behind it... Meh... A bounty of 500 credits was put on her deliverance to the leader of the Downtown Blasters, which funnily enough was, after research, the "protection group" of the place she had cheated in.
To cut it short she had been stupid enough to tease the Quarren, to much amusement of his friends, into a game of Sabacc and win.. Perhaps.. A few too many times. Needless to say, after the last round and the payment had been made he spotted the damn manipulator, a device which sends small frequency bursts to the cards, changing their values mid turn.
They became angry, he furious and soon enough she was chased out of there. She would happily have paid back the few credits she had won, but thinking back it probably wouldn't have been an option if she wanted to make it out without a bruised eye...
A shame Cindo was out delivering an order, she would perhaps even have been proud of Jennifer, "The first bounty on your head!" She would probably have joked, perhaps lighting up her depressed mood a tiny bit. Hmm.. Well, she wasn't here. And hearing the rain clash against the old ship from the darkness outside, the water clanging against metal certainly did not help the mood.
She tugged the warm blanket around her as she stared towards the news broadcaster screen, being unable to sleep. She... Felt uneasy, as if the event had shocked her.. Hmm... Whatever it was it couldn't be good, yea.. Should would wait for Cindo to come back before going to bed.
"Yea.." She mumbled under her breath as she stared towards the monitor of the broadcaster placed in the other end of the room, the only thing lighting up the otherwise dark lounge.
Uneasy indeed...
