Under the Twin Suns

Mos Eisley
Tatooine

It wasn’t every day that Valae Kitra found herself back on her home world. However, she’d been quite homesick as of late and had figured that it was time to visit. The Jedi healer had been devoting most of her free time to the Order of the Silver Jedi and the Iron Empire. Her duties to both factions kept her busy, for sure. But with a couple of days to spare, she set foot back at her family’s old scrap yard. It was a sorry sight, just like always – but it was home. From what she could see, there was no sign of any recent break-ins. What little was left in the way of small crafts, parts, and droid bits had been left alone. The small home was rather empty now that her father was gone. It always was bittersweet to stay here; she was lonely.

And so, Valae jumped aboard her speeder and set off for Mos Eisley.

The twin suns were blazing down on the sandy plains, but there were still a great many outside in the afternoon heat. Once she arrived, she left the speeder parked and set out on foot. True, the area was not known for gourmet food… quite the opposite, in fact. But there were still a few spots that offered a decent meal, and Valae knew them all well. She tucked her hands inside the pockets of her long vest, and let her boots carry her down the dusty road. Today, like many days, she had left behind the traditional dress of the Jedi. With her casual attire and messy brown hair, she looked like an unassuming young woman. But that suited her just fine.

Valae paused for a moment and drew in a deep breath of the desert air. It sure was nice to be home.

Sirra for her part was never all that thrilled to spend any morning on Tatooine, however she supposed it could be worse, she hadn't ran afoul of a local hutt for example. She would not question her luck too much on that front. Rather or not she was entirely pleased with where she was there were still things to do and they would not get done if she sat around and wish she was some where else, or so she liked to tell herself.

To that end she had rolled out of bed some hours ago and had been going about her business. The draw back of living on the world with two suns was that any activity that lead one to be outside meant sooner or later the idea of getting something to eat, drink or both seemed like a good idea. It was that time for Sirra, who looked at the sun and judged it was about time for lunch as it was, and she might as well track down something to eat before she did anything else.

She found herself in front of a small local place she had been to before, since she was in the area she decided to duck in, taking a second to shake the sand off her boots and waiting a moment as her eyes adjusted to the indoor lighting.
