"Fishing it is then. I'll find you a log to sit on." She jabbed back at her fellow master. "And it's been...fine? I guess? I mean, it's a lot of paperwork, yeah. I've been mostly focusing on rebuilding Coruscant after, well...you know. Senate building is nearly rebuilt, and we're mostly done rebuilding the upper sections. Lower levels are a pain though. Lots of clearing out holdouts, and dealing with the mess of debris that the imps left in their wake. Honestly, the biggest pain in the ass has been trying to find time to train and spend time with my padawans."

Jonyna felt a weight off her shoulders talking to Jasper. It was nice to have someone to confide in when it came to her work. She took a moment to stretch as she followed the two padawans, cracking her shoulders. "I've honestly been considering your route though, someday. Start something new, find my own corner of the galaxy. It'd be a ways down the line, but...I dunno, I achieved my dream of being a Council member, now I'm kinda stuck trying to figure out what that even means. What did it mean to you?"

Aris paused as he glanced back to the pair of adults before letting out a sigh. Hunting and foraging was a group activity back home. No one just sat around. Then again, maybe he was just pushing his culture on others? Maybe lazing about was fun for them. Yeah. That had to be right. He nodded to Braze, turning to lead the way since now they were also going to be the ones fishing.

"Where'd you get that ring from?"

" Kaleleon Kaleleon told me about them, so I picked one up from requisitions," Braze chirped, a note of excitement in his voice. "It was after he gave me this cool Knife..."

Braze reached behind himself and pulled out a blade from the hidden sheath at the small of his back before handing it over to Aris to inspect. He then padded a little deeper into the forest, his eyes scanning the ground until he found an epic stick. He picked it up, dusted it off, and gave the ground a few test pokes.

"What did it mean to me?" Jasper mused, scratching his beard. "I... don't mean to sound ungrateful. It's kind of still wild to me that I even wound up on the council... but what it represented to me was a necessity. My generation was almost entirely lost. Not many survived to consider a galaxy after the war, and those who could wound up... drifting. Unsure of how to move forward. I was not the best of my generation. In fact, I'd say I was the bottom of the barrel. Even so, there was a job that needed to be done. I filled that vacancy to the best of my abilities. I don't like positions of power. They have too much prestige, can over inflate an ego. Left unchecked they can create disasters. Yet, they must be filled all the same. I'm unfortunately rather good at filling such roles it seems."

Jasper's dream, in comparison, had seemed rather quaint. All he ever wanted was to be a Knight. He had set his bar so low that he didn't think he'd achieve the bare minimum expected of most Jedi. Yet, here he was all the same, a man with a colorful career filled with achievements that most could never dream of.

And it still didn't feel like it was enough. The achievements were only novelties. He had to do more for the galaxy.

"We are what we make of ourselves," he stated. "We have to evolve past our successes. If you achieve your dream... you pick up the dreams of someone else. The stone keeps pushing up the mountain. You only get to stop when everyone is at the top..."

"An impossible task."

"I got told overthrowing the Empire was an impossible task back when my little group started. I struggle to see anything as impossible nowadays." She gave Jasper a perky smile back. "But...I get it. I understand that sometimes, it's not about fulfilling a dream. Sometimes it's just about doing a job. I didn't dream of fighting the good fight, kicking the imperial's butt and throwing stones at AT-ATs...but I did it, because if no one else did, they'd just keep picking on the little guys. I....I've been trying to keep my ego down. Like, yeah, I achieved my dream. I did what I set out to do...but I can't help but think of all the other kids who want that dream too now. I grew up in an era where if I wanted to achieve my dream, I had to start the order from scratch. Now..."

She looked over to Braze and Aris, smiling at the thought. "They get to achieve that dream in an era where our order is thriving. I just hope it doesn't end anytime soon."

"Ohh. Haven't seen him in a while, huh." Kaleleon, Aris remembered him. They met before, which was nice. It'd been a long while though, so Aris couldn't really say much on it. He did look over the knife though, nodding his head. A good hunting knife. It'd be incredibly useful. He reached down to his boot, pulling out his own knife. Simple steel, forged with elegance. Epicanthic through and through.

It'd be useless in a fight against a lightsaber or the like, but it wasn't a weapon for fighting. It was a tool for survival.

"I- wait what are you doing with that stick?"

"Yeah, I haven't seen him in a while. He helped teach me the basics of how to move in armor," Braze offered.

He smirked at Aris. "Oh~? What's this? The great and mighty Aris knows not the wonders of a stick?" Braze asked, stifling a giggle as he stepped back. He spun the stick with a palm spin before planting it down. "This could be a great walking stick. It's got heft to it and a nice shape... maybe a nice shillelagh, which is kind of like a gaffi stick. I want to make one, but Uncle A'Runda A'Runda said it has to be earned," Braze added simply.

He held out the stick for Aris to inspect. "What do you think? Is this a fine stick?"

"They get to achieve that dream in an era where our order is thriving. I just hope it doesn't end anytime soon."

"Not to be a downer... but it's a Jedi's responsibility to be prepared for every possibility..."

And he had seen what the Sith were capable of. Between them and the wave of anti-Jedi sentiment that had been rolling back through the senate again, in spite of Alicio Organa being all but unanimously voted into office by the population of the GA. They could always be stabbed in the back in some way or another. They had to be ready for everything to flip on a dime.

"We can't become complacent," he stated. "It'll be the death of us all."

"Oh trust me, I get it. I've been trying to prep best I can, but...well, ya know, one council woman can only do so much. I've been struggling just to find time to train Aris, honestly. Part of me wonders if I was the right choice for him..."

Jonyna pauses, her eyes wandering over to the boy. "I wanted to because I thought it would be a sort of full circle moment. Kahlil put a lot of faith in me early on, but he was also my biggest critic. Now I'm realizing I don't really know much about him, and that's biting me in the shin. I want to help him grow, but half the time whatever I try, he seems to be able to do without any sort of trouble. The way I trained Ko and Rayia, I used simple tasks that I thought would challenge them. Chasing my racyon up a city tree, throwing Ko in a room with 10 remote droids and teaching him to dodge that way. I've always been a more 'learn through doing' kinda teacher, and yet Aris is just...effortless at doing. How do you handle Braze? I always imagine he's much the same. The boy has talent oozing out of his ears."
