BIOGRAPHY:
In the wake of the Gulag Plague the galaxy saw great turmoil. Many fled from planet to planet trying to escape the death that came from it. As such, many aliens species can be found well outside of their normal domains. None are more strange than those that found themselves within the territory belonging to the Empire.
Uhl's family is one such family that ended up in the region. Despite the inherent racism found within the Empire, the Nautolan family staid loyal to the Empire. Truly odd is the fact that they chose to serve in the military, though for aliens it was typically a dead end pursuit. Typically, they were viewed as nothing more than fodder unless they showed themselves to be exemplary, but even the chances to prove that were nearly unheard of.
Like his father, Uhl joined the imperial navy as soon as he was eligible. It was preferable to the army where few aliens survived training let alone any combat situation. Within the Navy, he became a pilot. Flying TIEs was what he did for years, and despite a multitude of missions and the poor design of TIE fighters, he consistently survived and showed a great degree of skill in the cockpit. For a brief time, he was a squadron leader during border wars with the Mandalorians. During this time he showed a talent for leading, even those that viewed him as being beneath him. This quality caught the eye of a Chiss commander.
Though Chiss are treated marginally less poorly than most aliens by the Empire, they still carry with them the burden of being an object of xenophobia. In Uhl, this commander found a kindred spirit and made him his protegé. Under his guidance, Uhl was taken out of the cockpit, where even the best could live short lives, and put into command opportunities. Under his direction, and the fortune of being in the 12th district (one of the few whose Moff is actually welcoming of aliens), Uhl found himself promoted to the rank of captain and under the direct service of Moff Sven Talith.
