Strengths:
  • Dual Turrets: In a pretty distinctive if not bizarre choice of design, the Massif has a dual turret design. Both are able to operate with total autonomy of the other and are under the command of different gunners. They move with surprising speed and agility needed to target Aircraft flying by or pick off an attack speeder screaming by.
  • Amphibious: Yet another design of the Massif that makes it unique is its amphibious status. These tanks may operate under water for a prolonged period of time. They have a depth limit of 500 meters (pretty much the average depth of your lake) and are able to remain totally operational under water until they need to refuel or until the crew runs out of air reserves.
  • Knock down power: The prow and stern of the Massif are ideal for smashing through re-enforced barriers. The re-enforced quadranium steel hull is thickest at these two points, and this bad boy is packing a lot of horsepower. Add in the massive momentum it generates by weight alone (Momentum is mass x acceleration) and there really isn't much that can stand in the Massif's way.
Weaknesses:
  • Reliant: While able to smash through durasteel like paper and plastic, and enough fire power to shatter heavy vehicle armor, this tank is lacking in any real anti-personnel measures. Its designed to smash through other tanks and aircraft, not to take on infantry.
  • Reloadin' the launch tubes: To make up for size problems, one gunner specifically is assigned to reload all three missile tubes. Unfortunately, that makes reloading a pain. I mean, sure you could take one of the other gunners off their gun.... but then, this tank would be down one cannon and that's not idea.
  • Cramped: The space of this tank is limited to make up for the extra space needed for firepower, engines, and armor. The two turret gunners have next to zero personal space, they are cramped next to each other. The Commander and the pilot are side by side like a pair of sardines.
  • Multi-spectral Emitter: The multi-spectral emitter is a great gun, but cannot be overused. After each shot, a 30 second cool-down is required. Sure, you can over ride this once, twice max (for three shots in a row), but after that third shot you are almost guaranteed to overload the MSE. Also, do note that those cool down times stack. So, say you choose to shoot twice without the cool down, that's 60 seconds of cool-down time.
Description:
At RMIA we are all about helping make war smarter. And we are even moreso about it when our allies ask us for assistance in doing so. After a direct request from the former-pirate Aedan Miles, Ardgal Raxis began to personally oversee a tank of unique design to fight against other tanks and aircraft. From it the Massif was born.

Rugged, powerful, deadly and heavy, the Massif is the mechanized personification of a destructive mountain. Every weapon on it is designed to answer the question, "how can I dish out as much damage to other tanks as possible?" Her primary gun is the RMIA's favorite really, the Electromagetic plasma cannon (EMPC). the EMPC's ability to generate massive damage of prolonged periods with great distance to her name made her the obvious choice. Plus, its the calling card of RMIA's favorite tanks.

And frankly, the guns only follow hot on her tails.

There really is something to be said for the re-enforced Quadranium steel hull. Though she isn't the prettiest or lightest metal to come to the ball, it certainly has a lot of armor protection that is only made stronger by the ray and deflector shield units. Just deploy, support with anti-infantry abilities, and watch the enemy be reduced to dust. The Massif really can take care of the rest for you.

All in all, its just a great tank.
