Private Tython: Threat Reconnaissance

The skies being clear and a gentle swept down throughout the plains of Tython. Travelling towards the Jedi Temple and many students, knights and masters were occupied with either lessons or missions. Shuttles and speeders made their journeys to and from the Jedi Temple. Current and new students being inducted into the New Jedi Order as recruitment was active.

Many voices can be heard surrounding the landing bay and docking stations located on Tython. Out in the forestry from the Temple grounds further away. A trio of Jedi Apprentices had gathered up as reports came in that there was a spike in rogue Flesh Raiders attempting to attack nearby villages and villagers. Recon was the key to feed intel back to the Jedi Council. They were waiting for another student to join them which makes this team having four individuals to investigate.

"You two alright? Sounds like these attacks haven't caused any fatalities just yet." Kas said to his twin sister Seri and younger brother Caden.

"This isn't good Kas. Let's hope we can gain more information about these attacks coming from the Flesh Raiders." Seri said to him as she stood with her arms folded over in thought.

"Yeah. Don't want a repeat of what happened to you, Kas. Think we're waiting on someone else to join us?" Caden questioned as he raised that to his older siblings while waiting.

"Yeah. Once our fourth arrives we can begin our little recon mission and do what we can to help out the villages and villagers affected by the Flesh Raider attacks." Kas replied to Caden and Seri.

The three continued to wait for the other student that'd be joining them. Know nothing about them but they were open to let someone pitch in big or small it still counts for something. They all turned when hearing footsteps approach.

 

[Ariel Lok]

Footsteps approached, with a light bass and crunch from the gravel.

"Fleshraiders, the definition of a nuisance." A silk voice said.

As Kas and his companions turned. There he was, Ariel Lok. Attired in an obsidian angular armour that was stylish to the eye and a helmet that had two bulbous black eyes, like that of a grasshopper. A most distinguished look. Adorned by a drooping, burnished silver hilt, which gleamed garish light from the radiance of the sun.

"I'm Ariel Lok," He introduced himself. "Shall we get to business?"

A sharp turn of heads when the silk voice was heard. Caden, Kas and Seri gave a nod over to Ariel. They weren't expecting a fully booted and suited new face to join them. They got the impressions and vibes that Ariel likes to remain mysterious to the public. Works for Kas.

"Ah must be our fourth. Nice of you to join us. I'm Kas." Kas watched Ariel approach the trio.

"I'm Seri, good that we've got someone else joining us." Seri gave a soft smiled over to Ariel.

"Caden or Cade don't mind either one. Nice armour by the way. Glad to have you." Caden said.

The team was set and ready to begin their reconnaissance mission. Caden, Kas and Seri done a quick check of their gear. They were good to go. Kas was on point for this assignment be his first one to have leadership over. Not that it mattered his siblings followed suit.

"Alright. Just have to check in with Caltin Vanagor about this. He'll want to know our progress and get reports." Kas said to the team as he got his commlink out and sent a message for the Jedi Master. "Master Vanagor. This is Kas Larsen. My team and I are going to scout Flesh Raider activities. There's been reports about village attacks master." Kas ended his transmission and waited.

Kas waited for Caltin to respond in case there was anything that the Jedi Master can offer to the team assembled. Any intel given would be better than nothing to work with.

 

[Valery Noble]

Valery's presence arrived with certainty, her steps light across the worn path leading to the gathered group. She wore her usual dark attire, which was practical and fitted for combat. Her eyes scanned the four Jedi ahead, pausing briefly on each of them.

"Hello all," she greeted, nodding to each in turn before her gaze settled on Ariel. "You must be Padawan Lok. I am Master Valery Noble."

She glanced out toward the treeline, then returned her attention to the group.

"I received word of the Flesh Raider activity and thought I would offer assistance. This is your operation, Kas. I am here to support however you need."

Her tone was calm but steady, letting them know she trusted them to lead while also making it clear she would be watching closely.

Kas glanced over towards the Jedi Grandmaster Valery Noble as she approached and joined the team. Obviously letting the group of students be the individuals to defuse any situations that they confront. Flesh Raiders can be ruthless and wild by nature. An instinct within Kas' mind cautioned him about confronting any rogue Flesh Raiders.

"Grandmaster Noble. Appreciate your presence and support. My previous comms I'll loop it back for recording and send it to Master Vanagor. Let him contact us when he is available." Kas said.

It was time to go over strategies and tactics within the team set out to investigate and prevent further attacks happening within the nearby village and residents. Kas looked to everyone.

This will be a test of his leadership among his peers.

"Glad to have you with us Grandmaster. Sure your support's always welcomed." Seri said to Valery with a grin at the corner of her mouth. Nodded her head in appreciation of the company.

"Thanks for coming with us Grandmaster. We'll all have a role to play in this task no doubt." Caden spoke while rubbing his fingers along his chin in thought.

"Alright from the reports coming in so far. Attacks are surrounding the Ban Landing. Flesh Raiders have been targeting tourists, visitors that seek to go on the 'Great Journey' while on Tython. That'll be our first stop and then we pay visit to Kalikori village where a Twi'lek colony has sought refuge on Tython." Kas explained the scenarios before the team he led.

Last time Kas encountered Flesh Raiders he was ambushed and left to be healed, recover in the Jedi Temple's Medical Bay. This wasn't an assignment out of revenge but to prove that Kas wasn't like past Epicanthix members. The dark reputation that can reflect heavily on Kas and others.

This was an opportunity to prove that he is the better individual despite enduring hardship prior. A Jedi doesn't seek vengeance. No. They sought out justice and peace in the proper channels.

"Does anyone have questions or anything to mention?" Kas asked the group as he looked between them all.

 

[Ariel Lok]

It was the first time Ariel had met a Jedi Master. His manner became qualm. Yet he tried to conceal this and front a façade of confidence.

"It is good to meet you, Master Noble." He said, as she passed him to scout the treeline, looking for the nefarious.

Then he hoisted himself up on the stone arch of the bridge and sat languidly, legs dangling, and his one hand on his hilt.

"I have one question, Kas. Are we to arrest, or kill these Flesh Raiders?"

A light breeze blew around the group of Jedi calm and gentle that was a cool relief for them all to receive while gathered round. Kas looked around the group consisting of Ariel, a new Padawan Learner, Valery Noble a Jedi Master and the Grandmaster for the New Jedi Order. Alongside his twin sister, Seri, a Jedi Apprentice and his younger brother, Caden, also a Jedi Apprentice.

There was to be no brutality set upon anyone - all Jedi here are to act defensively and defuse the situations they confront as peacefully as they could where possible.

Kas looked to Ariel to answer his question about engaging hostile Flesh Raiders they face.

"Arrest, detain, disarm them from causing any harm to us or others. Trust in the Force and your instincts they're there to guide us all." Kas said where he sounded like his mother.

Seri smiled when she heard and felt the energy from her twin brother. She knew where that came from - a compassionate mother that raised her and her brothers well. "Got it Kas." She said.

Caden chuckled and nodded his head hearing Kas' words almost felt like they hadn't left home. Their mother's spirit beaming out of Kas like a beacon in reminding them all who she was. "Reminded me of someone there Kas." Caden said with a grin on his face.

Kas had a smirk on his face when hearing Caden respond to him. He walked with Caden and Seri to begin making their off to the Ban Landing site. Nudged Caden gently like a big brother would do. All while giving a fist-pump to Seri as Kas was taking point to lead the way and being cautious.

"On me everyone - let's go." Kas announced and letting the Force be his guide.

Valery followed alongside the group as they began their trek, her steps quiet but purposeful. The breeze moving through the trees stirred her hair, but her focus remained on the young Jedi ahead of her. Kas was doing well, and she could see his siblings responding with trust and familiarity. Even Ariel, new as he was to the group, seemed to be settling in.

When Kas gave his answer about the objective, Valery gave a small nod of approval.

"That is the Jedi way," she said, her voice calm. "We aim to resolve conflict without violence, and we protect life wherever we can. Your answer shows wisdom, Kas."

She looked between the four of them, her expression steady.

"But I want to be clear. Flesh Raiders are not known for peaceful surrenders. They are aggressive, territorial, and have little regard for negotiation. If they attack, they will fight until they are stopped. You must be ready for that. Defend yourselves and others, and remember your training. Stay close and watch each other's backs."

Her eyes lingered on each of them in turn before she gave a small nod.

"We'll follow your lead."
