We all know the tales. Darkwire, the underground syndicate responsible for the recent success for the Corporate Authorities of Darkwire. The irony of it makes it seem laughable yet as Darkwire grows, the less they feel they have control over this new growing network of anarchic specialists. CorpSec, the not so strong arm of the Corpos exist as a show of force than an actual enforcement organization. They have more like trigger happy bullies than a professional fighting force, which is why whenever they attempt to take down Darkwire, they are met with unsatisfactory results. The show of strength and competence by Darkwire would prove to be the downfall of the ever so wealthy Corpos.
Qanatain Xopsaloff was dead and changes were being made to fit this new era of the Corporate Authority. Fingers were pointed, questions were left unanswered, and careers were being ruined. Many high ranking corpos didn't come to work anymore. Except for one.
Emraj Hosdole, a CorpSec Investigator was given his position as a means to eye Darkwire and keep them in check, but as Darkwire became more illusive, the Corpos have looked for other means of gaining an edge over the monster they created. Emraj was given some liberties in order to determine the best counter operation to give the Corpos the edge they needed. He came to work everyday as if nothing happened, had a new boss with the same co-workers, had a view zeros taken off his salary but it didn't make him flinch. He knew that going after Darkwire was a futile effort at this point, they were able to take down the DireX Board, they were way more dangerous than they were thought out to be.
Emraj had a different target in mind. It's no surprise that the death of DireX caused a lot of old employees to lose faith in the company and leave. It wasn't a big deal for old employees to move on to greener pastures, good luck in your future endeavors etc. But when you decide to sell your company's secrets in exchange for protection, that doesn't look good for future employment. The one Emraj was hunting however was no Denon Corpo but he was of particular interest to him.
Lun Solnesk was one of Qantain's confidants from the IGBC. Lun was essential to maintaining the IGBC's direct connection to the Corporate Authorities and facilitated a lot of dealings between the two entities while Qantain held down his position on the DireX Board. When Qantain died, Lun had no means of doing business with the Corporate Authorities anymore and started establishing a connection between the IGBC and Darkwire. With the intel Emraj had dug up, Lon was giving credit accounts, intergalactic trade data, and market trend data. Stuff that could give Darkwire the edge they needed. There was no room for compromise here. Emraj would kill him and he was gonna need the help to do it.
The grizzled investigator was in his office as he was awaiting for his corpo colleagues to get down to business.
