PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

While Tycho stands shorter than your average Chiss, his features are no less striking. His glowing red eyes and icy blue skin are typical amongst his people. In casual situations, he allows his long black hair to hang down to his shoulders; during business hours, he keeps it tied back in a ponytail. Pronounced cheekbones stand out against his gaunt cheeks, lined with age, with a strong chin and square jawline to accompany them. His body is leanly muscled. His body is dotted with minute scars, which usually remain hidden beneath his outfit.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Tycho is known to his employees as a thoughtful, reasonable and generous CEO. He considers those in his employ to essentially be members of his extended family, and he's won over the court of public opinion on Dantooine by creating jobs and bolstering local economies. Tycho believes in cultivating talent, giving second chances when possible, and favoring progress over tradition-- but he won't compromise on the core values of the company established by his adoptive father. ValeCorp is a medical company, and it exists to promote the common good. Weapons are off the table, and he would prefer not to use them at all... but, of course, the galaxy is a dangerous place.

However, his calm and pleasant demeanor has its limits. When it comes to defending his company and his people against rivals and adversaries, Tycho is cutthroat and ruthless. He's not above breaking the law, but prefers to pursue legal avenues whenever possible... and whenever not possible, he's very good at covering his tracks.

STRENGTHS

BUSINESS ACUMEN: Tycho has a mind for numbers and a nose for deals. A strong understanding of mathematics, statistics, and market tendencies-- from an education at Dantooine's most prestigious university-- goes hand in hand with a savvy, charismatic manner of speaking. He's always looking for potential ways to expand ValeCorp beyond its current standing, and he has the intelligence and drive necessary to find unconventional solutions to the pressing issues of the business.

WAR HERO: As a former medic in the army of the Galactic Alliance, Tycho has been through some of the worst situations that the galaxy has to offer. From berserker Mandalorians to ruthless Sith, Tycho has survived countless enemies, and saved the lives of countless fellow soldiers along the way. This translates to an ability to think clearly and move fast under extreme amounts of stress and pressure.

HEALTHY: Tycho Vale spends much of his downtime exercising and remaining in shape. He's past the days of looking for a fight... but if one finds him, he intends on being ready.

WEALTHY: Money talks, and money walks.

WEAKNESSES

UNDER PRESSURE: While Tycho Vale handles the pressure well in the moment, there can be no doubt that it weighs upon him in the long run. The weight of living up to his father's legacy and providing for all of his employees, all while putting on the public image of steadiness and confidence, means that Tycho keeps his doubts to himself. This repressed stress has resulted in many nightmares and sleepless nights.

PERFECTIONIST: ValeCorp: Simply the Best. That's their motto, and Tycho refuses to let it go. He'll send a project back to the drawing board as many times as necessary until it's flawless. Sometimes that means missing deadlines and letting competition get the upper hand.

HISTORY

If Tycho Vale ever had a Chiss name, he does not know it. His father is unknown; the woman presumed to be his mother perished when her ship crashed into the surface of Dantooine. The wreckage was found by a man in the nearby village, a doctor by the name of Alvys Vale. Tycho, barely a toddler at that point and unable to speak, was the only survivor of the crash. With no way to find his next of kin, Alvys adopted the boy as his own son, giving him a name that meant "fortunate" in Dantooinian.

As the son of a doctor, Tycho spent much of his youth watching his father attend to patients at his local practice. Slowly but surely, the practice expanded into a full-fledged medical supply business; Alvys had grown exhausted with waiting on supply shipments to the far-off planet, and instead decided to pool his local influence and begin manufacturing bacta, ultrasonic imagers, surgical instruments and more. ValeCorp was finally born when Tycho was only 11, and most people-- Alvys included-- assumed that Tycho would immediately join in the family business when he was of age.

Tycho, however, had other plans.

Unwilling to live in the shadow of his father, and desperate to get his own taste of the wider galaxy, Tycho enlisted in the army of the Galactic Alliance at age 18, much to the dismay of his father. The relationship between them was immediately strained, and would remain so for the next twenty years as the Chiss slowly climbed the ladder of military rank. At age 40, it seemed that Tycho Vale was in the medical corps to stay as a lieutenant colonel.

Fate had other plans.

A fateful holocall from his father revealed the truth: in a cruel twist of irony, Dr. Alvys Vale was slowly dying from a muscular degenerative disease. His company, which had swelled to become a planetary enterprise, needed someone to take the reigns. In that moment, every regret about his past and doubt about his future seemed to bubble to the surface. Tycho had a change of heart. He left the service behind, returning home to Dantooine and using what savings he had to enroll in a business management program at the University of Dantooine. Despite his father's offers to pay his way, Tycho refused. He would get there on his own, or die trying.

Two years later, he was working in an entry level management position in the research and development sector of ValeCorp.

Six years after that, he was the Chief Operations Officer. When his father finally passed, Tycho quietly took the reigns.

In the two years that have passed since, he's made massive strides in expanding the business. His latest accomplishment is a completed merger between ValeCorp and Debka Droidworks, which (he hopes) will lead to advancements in surgical droids and medical prosthetics.
